Following the entry into service of three recently-acquired Scania N94UD/East Lancs OmniDekka vehicles which are of an increased length (11.9m) compared to a standard Scania OmniDekka (10.6m), this vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Riverside. It is one of three to transfer to Riverside to operate Nexus Miscellaneous Works contracts, in turn displacing three of the dual-door Volvo B7TLs to the Special Events Fleet over the summer when there is an increased requirement for vehicles to operate services for Special Events.

This vehicle has been treated to a partial repaint into Go North East's new corporate livery. The new livery design is a a lot more eye-catching and features a two-tone base livery, with the traditional key colour of red towards the front of the bus, and non-metallic dark blue towards the back. It is thought that further vinyls will be added at a later date, in order to reflect the quality and customer values of Go North East.

This vehicle has received "Northern" branding, which is the new brand name for services 6 and X70/X71. As part of recent service changes, new service 6 was introduced as a replacement for the northern section of the old "Diamond" 43/44 services, so the name is appropriate for the route as well as commemorating the company's heritage with a fresh modern outlook on the "Northern" name.
