This vehicle has been repainted into the blue variant of the "X-lines" livery, at Bus & Coach World, Blackburn. It has now returned to Saltmeadows Road to receive "X-lines" branding, prior to returning to service at Chester-le-Street.

This vehicle has been taken out of service at Riverside Depot, to undergo preparation for service on its new tenure on the X21 service from Chester-le-Street Depot, which includes a repaint at Bus & Coach World, Blackburn, as well as some mechanical upgrades to be completed.

From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Riverside.

Following completion of all required vehicle re-allocations; this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been officially delicensed (SORN'd), enabling Go North East to obtain a tax refund.

Prior to entering service; this vehicle has received "X9|X10" branding, featuring the tagline "Direct to the heart of the city". In order to combat the strong public perception that people who travel on public transport are beneath those on the Social Class hierarchy compared to those who travel by car, and to show car users that they do have some commonality with bus users, each vehicle with "X9|X10" branding will feature a different type of bus user. September 2017 Go North East
This vehicle, which carries a midnight blue base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet. It is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Representing an investment of over £1.6m, this batch of vehicles have been ordered to upgrade "Tyne Tees Xpress" services X9 and X10. These vehicles feature the latest technology, and are fitted with Volvo's new 5.1 litre D5K-240 engine, which is Euro 6 emission compliant. Internally; they feature Esteban Civic V3 seating complete with leather and soft topper foam for added comfort; four tables on the upper saloon; two-colour Tarabus 'Wood Effect' flooring; and blue accent lighting, which is fitted underneath seats and on the stairwell, to provide extra light on the gangway. Like all new vehicles; they feature Wi-Fi, 'Next Stop' audio-visual announcements and USB connections as standard, though these vehicles also feature three-pin power sockets on the upper saloon tables.

Ahead of the introduction of new Wright Streetlite vehicles on "Drifter" service 60 (Sunderland - Parkside), this vehicle has been repainted into a purple base livery. It is expected that once the new vehicles enter service on service 60, this vehicle will be re-allocated to service 39 (Pennywell - Doxford Park), and will fall under the "SimpliCity" brand.

Following the entry into service of the former Thames Travel Optare Solo M880/Optare vehicles, fleet numbers 701 to 704, this vehicle has transferred from Washington Depot to Riverside.
October 2019 Go North East
This vehicle, previously with Brighton & Hove as their 623, has been acquired by Go North East and re-numbered 6162. It is one of five joining the fleet to enable the withdrawal of older double-decks in the fleet, and to assist with the displacement of dual-door vehicles from Chester-le-Street's fleet, following vehicle re-allocations in September 2019 which resulted in Chester-le-Street... see more
