Complementing the intended allocation of the native Volvo B5TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 3s, this vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot to Chester-le-Street. When the seven native examples return to service following repaint at Bus & Coach World, Blackburn, one of these vehicles will be allocated as part of the PVR (as there are only seven native examples and the PVR is 8), while the other will be the spare vehicle for the route.

This vehicle has entered service at Riverside Depot, seeing primary use as a spare vehicle for services X9/X10. If not required to cover for a branded vehicle on services X9/X10, it should instead be allocated to "Tyne Valley Ten" services 10/10A/10B.

Prior to entering service, this vehicle has been repainted into a four-colour charcoal/grey and gold base livery. This four-colour combination will be used for the spare vehicles to be used on "X-lines" specification services. It has also been fitted with a buggy bay, as well as having free passenger Wi-Fi, audio-visual announcement passenger information systems and USB charging points installed. Unlike the ADL Enviro400s which were fitted with high-back seats; this vehicle required a full refurbishment including fitment of high-back Esteban Civic V3 seats, re-trimmed into Go North East's new seat moquette style (with cream headrests to match the new "X-lines" specification).

This vehicle, previously with East Yorkshire as their 797, has joined the Go North East fleet where it has been allocated fleet number 6334. Go North East are in line to receive all four of East Yorkshire's former demonstrator vehicles, numbered 794 - 797 in their fleet, whilst East Yorkshire are to receive four Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TLs, presently numbered 6118 - 6121 in the North East. This swap is taking place as 794 - 797 meet the stringent emission standards of the promised Clean Air or Low Emission Zone concepts recently consulted on (as they have Euro 6 engines), whereas 6118 - 6121 do not (as they have Euro 5 engines). It also standardises the fleet at both companies, with the Wrights bodied Volvo B5TLs being non-standard in the East Yorkshire fleet, whereas they'll be joining a fleet of seven already allocated to Riverside, in the North East. Volvo B9TLs 6118 - 6121 are also ex dealer-stock, so have a non-standard interior colourscheme and low-back seating, making them unsuitable for use on Go North East's "X-lines" express routes. Prior to acquisition by Go North East, East Yorkshire had already taken a batch of these dealer-stock Volvo B9s, so these additional four should fit in well in their fleet.
