This vehicle has received "Lambton Worm" branding, with sub-branding for service 71 (Chester-le-Street - Houghton-le-Spring - Sunderland). The Lambton Worm is a legend from County Durham in North East England in the UK. The story takes place around the River Wear, and is one of the area's most famous pieces of folklore, having been adapted from written and oral tradition into pantomime and song formats.

Following the entry into service of new Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro vehicles at Gateshead Depot, this vehicle has transferred from Gateshead Depot to Chester-le-Street.

This vehicle has entered service within the Special Events Fleet based at Deptford Terrace, seeing allocation to the Park & Ride services in operation for the Sunderland Tall Ships 2018 event, covering sites at Deptford Terrace, Downhill, Herrington Country Park, Fulwell and Stadium of Light.

This vehicle has been reinstated within the Special Events Fleet to provide transport for the annual Sunderland International Airshow event. The Sunderland Airshow, held from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th July 2018 across the city’s seafront, celebrates its 30th anniversary and includes colourful displays from the Red Arrows, the Typhoons and Spitfires. Prior to entering service, this vehicle has been fitted with the tagline "No change? | Get your bus ticket on your phone with our mobile app", and has also been fitted with the relevant feature symbol vinyls.

This vehicle has been repainted into a plain yellow base livery. Following funding withdrawals from Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council, the future of the "QuayLink" services (which Go North East operates under contract to Nexus) was unknown.
