In line with the gradual cascade of Scania L94UB/Wright Solars 4961 - 4965 to Riverside's Driver Training fleet following the completion of modifications at Thornton Brothers, Ashington, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service.

In line with service changes effective 27th January 2008, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Gateshead. It has also been fitted with a new LED front destination display, but retains the flipdot side and rear displays. In addition, it has received "The Crusader" branding, with sub-branding for the new 27 service, which operates between Newcastle City Centre and South Shields, via Gateshead, Heworth, Hebburn and Jarrow.

Prior to new branding being launched and this vehicle's cascade to Gateshead Depot, it has been repainted into a plain maroon base livery.

This vehicle, which carries a purple base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet. It is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Representing an investment of approximately £3.7m, this batch of vehicles are believed to be in line to upgrade "Prince Bishops" services 20/20A/X20. This vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Crook, on temporary loan, to alleviate vehicle shortages.

Following the entry into service of the refurbished Mercedes Citaros on "Wear Xpress" service X5, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Percy Main. At Percy Main, this vehicle will displace Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4962 (NL52 WVT) and 4963 (NL52 WVU) to Riverside's Driver Training fleet.

Ahead of upcoming service changes, due to commence from Sunday 22nd May 2016, which will see "SimpliCity" service 2 reduced to a 15-minute frequency, this vehicle has had the frequency on the cant rail revised to reflect the new frequency.
