Vehicle History

June 2020 Go North East From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Riverside.
April 2020 Go North East Following completion of all required vehicle re-allocations; this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been officially delicensed (SORN'd), enabling Go North East to obtain a tax refund.
September 2019 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot to Chester-le-Street. At Chester-le-Street, this vehicle should see primary allocation to services 28/28A. This transfer has taken place due to contract changes resulting in services 67/69 at Riverside requiring Euro 5 emission vehicles. Once similar Optare Versa 8307 - 8309 are fitted with Euro 6 SCRTs, this vehicle will return to Riverside.
May 2019 Go North East Photograph by In line with service changes and the introduction of new brand identities, there were a large number of vehicle re-allocations which took place on Sunday 19 May, the significance of which have been likened to the South Shields and Bishop Auckland depot closures in 2005 and 2006 respectively. This vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Riverside, in order to replace older Scania L94UB/Wright Solar vehicles.
November 2018 Go North East Photograph by To allow greater flexibility of the Optare Versa allocations at Chester-le-Street Depot, the "Lambton Worm" brand is being removed from the 34/34A services, following in the footsteps of the removal of the "Waggonway" brand from services 28/28A earlier this year. As such this vehicle has now been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery. This example carries the tagline "Never miss your stop | Many of our buses have next stop screens and announcements".
November 2013 Go North East Photograph by Following the entry into service of new Wright Streetlite vehicles at Deptford Depot on "Drifter" service 60, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street.
November 2013 Go North East Prior to transfer to Chester-le-Street Depot; this vehicle has received "Lambton Worm" branding, with sub-branding for services 34/34A.
November 2013 Go North East Ahead of the introduction of new Wright Streetlite vehicles on "Drifter" service 60 (Sunderland - Parkside), this vehicle has been repainted into a dark green base livery. It is expected that once the new vehicles enter service on service 60, this vehicle will be cascaded to Chester-le-Street Depot, to be allocated to "Lambton Worm" services 34/34A.

It is of 'Gold Standard' specification; featuring full CCTV coverage and recording, information screens, and comfortable seats for all including priority seating with a wheelchair bay for elderly and disabled customers.
