From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Riverside.

This vehicle has been repainted into a plain yellow base livery. Following funding withdrawals from Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council, the future of the "QuayLink" services (which Go North East operates under contract to Nexus) was unknown. It was announced earlier this year that Go North East has stepped in to save the "QuayLink", and, from 26th July 2015, will operate the services commercially. The services will be revised to expand upon Go North East's current network of services. The current "QuayLink" Q1 service from Newcastle Central Station to Gateshead will merge with "The Orbit" branded 51/52 services, and will be re-numbered Q1/Q2. The current "QuayLink" Q2 service from Newcastle Haymarket Bus Station to St Peter's Basin will be merged with "Great Park & Ride" service X40, and will be re-numbered Q3. As such, all of the "QuayLink" and "The Orbit" branded vehicles will be repainted with a fresh coat of yellow and the branding will be revised accordingly. The two former Deptford-based "SimpliCity" branded Optare Versas will also be repainted as part of this scheme and the rise in the combined PVR of the current "The Orbit" and "QuayLink" branded services.

Due to the service changes operational from Sunday 25th January 2015, a number of vehicles have been freed up, allowing for a number of transfers around the region. This includes the transfer of this vehicle from Deptford Depot to Riverside, where it will see allocation to "Great Park & Ride" service X40.

The brand is designed to promote Go North East's services which make life easier for people living in Sunderland.

This vehicle, which carries a purple base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet. It features audio-visual Next Stop Announcements, and is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Due to a problem at the DVLA with registering this vehicle, it has been allocated a new registration mark (NK11 HDN) and has surrendered its original registration mark (NK11 FXO). Once prepared for service, it is expected to be allocated to Deptford Depot.
