It is believed that Go North East has ordered five new 'Solo SR' vehicles from Optare, to be deployed on Hexham's "Tynedale Links" network of services. As a consequence; some of the Transbus MPD/Transbus Mini Pointer vehicles currently allocated are due to be withdrawn. To support the product launch of the five new buses at Hexham, Optare has therefore supplied Go North East one of its demonstration models, allocated fleet number 9105, which will provide cover for 561 (NK53 TLF) until the arrival of the new 'Solo SR' models. This vehicle was withdrawn from service at Hexham Depot last month having sustained accident damage during heavy snowfall.
