With the entry into service of the five new Optare Solo SR minibuses at Hexham Depot, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Hexham Depot.

It is believed that Go North East has ordered five new 'Solo SR' vehicles from Optare, to be deployed on Hexham's "Tynedale Links" network of services. As a consequence; some of the Transbus MPD/Transbus Mini Pointer vehicles currently allocated are due to be withdrawn. 555 (NK53 TKT) is one of these vehicles, and it is believed that this vehicle's MOT is due to expire imminently. To support the product launch of the five new buses at Hexham, Optare has therefore supplied Go North East one of its demonstration models, allocated fleet number 9106, which will provide cover for 555 (NK53 TKT) until the arrival of the new 'Solo SR' models.

This vehicle has been repainted into Go North East's new red, yellow and blue 'swoop-style' fleet livery, and has also been fitted with new LED destination displays.

Following transfer to Washington Depot to operate "South Tyne" services 88/88A, this vehicle has been repainted into a plain lilac base livery.

From 28th January 2018, Go North East are making changes to a number of services to improve reliability and to allow new travel opportunities. Following repaint, this vehicle has transferred from Percy Main Depot to Washington. At Washington; this vehicle will act as a spare vehicle for "Connections4" service 4 and "Whey Aye Five 0" services 5/50, replacing the Mercedes Citaros in fleet livery which currently serve this purpose at Washington.
