That wasn't the StreetDeck - that was a Volvo B5TL/Wright Gemini 3.

Bugger, but in terms of Engine Size etc they are pretty much the same though.

(14 Jan 2015, 7:21 pm)DaveyBowyer wrote [ -> ]To be honest, with the exception of the 308, I don't see either the Streetdeck or Volvo B5TL Gemini 3 fitting into any doubledeck route for Arriva North East whatsoever. I think Arriva should stick with ADL bodywork for all bus types and if they see the benefits of using a heavyweight type on the X93, the Scania Chassis on the E400 MMC would be ideal for the Ashington Express work and the X10 / X11 from Blyth but, as Arriva like it, they put fuel economy before reliability and punctuality. If they cared about them two, they would've ordered B9TLs or N230s when they were on the market rather than E400s and DB300s

Euro6 is best met with a smaller engine running at higher temperatures so smaller engines are the best way to arrive at it

Hence the move to 5 and 6 litre engine Double Deckers.

Does this mean that the 5 and 6 litre engines at Euro 6 will be made to produce more power, or equivalent to Euro 5 counterparts?

Or is that purely in terms of compliance?
Well put it this way, I've been on both a B5LH and B9TL up the Cradlewell Bank past the Corner House onto the Coast Road and whereas the B5LH does OK once the engine engages, but the B9TL goes up like a stink even with 80 - 90 passengers as I experienced after the home match against Everton.

It has been confirmed on Arriva North West's Facebook page that Green Lane depot is due 35 ADL Enviro400s (Euro V specification) for the 12/13 (Liverpool - Stockbridge Village) and 15 (Liverpool - Huyton) routes. I believe Speke depot is also due a batch but no confirmation as yet.
I know Scott has already seen this pic but the first MAX streetlite has emerged from Wright. The picture shown below shows 1592:

Is this example for the North East (Darlington), if so it can't be 1582 as 1582 is a Coastliner 306 branded example.

It is indeed - for the X1.

The fleet numbers for these vehicles are shown here - they were added originally when it was thought the vehicles would form part of Arriva's 2014 orders.

Yay! looking forward to them entering service soon as it should mean the end of Solos and MPDs operating the 1/5/5A.

I'm going to have to learn the Bishop - Crook section of this route soon though.

I cant clearly see the fleet number - there is one on there. Possibly 1592? There is deffo a 2 on the end of it.

I fully zoomed in and it looked like 1590 to me!

EDIT: Front one looks more like 1592, though.

Looks like it could be aye, and providing that fits with the fleetlist it looks like a pretty good assumption Smile

Yeah it is quite difficult to see the fleet number, could possibly be 1592 as they will have the fleet numbers 1590 - 1594.

I can't tell at all.
I thought it was 1592 myself, one of the 5 for Darlington.
1591 has been spotted at Heysham Docks.

They seem to be going down the lack of registrations route too.

Do you know if GNE's streetlites will follow this pattern?
