There's no more until April.
I think the winter period is for maintenance on the vehicles etc, I believe the next one will be at the MetroCentre next year.

I imagine the other reason for lack of rallies in the winter will be because of the cold weather.

Don't know if these are confirmed as happening but typically this is when some of the rallies tend to be held:

Kirkby Stephen: Easter Saturday & Sunday.

500 Group - Teesside Running Day: last Sunday in April.

MetroCentre: May Day Bank Holiday Weekend (usually on the Sunday although it was held on May Day this year).

Durham - Howlands: Father's Day.

Seaburn - August Bank Holiday Monday.

Also in early July there is the Whitley Bay rally.
Was busy on the days of the Durham and Seaburn days, but managed to do the Quaylink launch (if it counts) the Metrocentre one and the Whitley Bay one
Hello.

The winter period is used by us to get the work done on the buses that we cannot do during the running season (May to September) This year we are especially busy not only restoring R855 PRG but also doing some chassis work on FTN 710W. Hopefully both buses will be ready by May.
Provisional dates for the rallies this year(subject to change):
Sunday May 1st - North East Bus & Coach Show, Metrocentre
Would like to see a Tynedale Link MPD/Solo, Streetdeck PB Streetshite and a couple of others.

Sunday June 19th - Durham Vintage Bus Gathering and Park & Ride, Howlands Farm P&R site (with new parking arrangements!!!)
Hopefully it's not like last year which went very wrong in regards to parking.

Sunday July 17th - Whitley Bay Bus Rally, The Links, Whitley Bay
Maybe there'll be a bigger turnout this year.

Monday August 29th - Seaburn Historic Vehicle Display, Recreation Ground, Seaburn

We went to Howlands twice and had no problems with parking. Went in the morning for the buses, then in the afternoon for another quick look around and a walk around the Botanic Gardens.
Went to Bowes Railway's Vintage Vehicle Weekend today, there was 6 buses and 1 coach with the rest being cars and vans and a couple of motorcycles.

Aye, we'll be there.

Unlike last year, it didn't clash with last week's do at NELSAM. That was actually quite brilliant. A few new and different vehicles (to us) plus all the other stuff they have there)

It appears there is some sort of upcoming event in Durham

And it turned out to be a cracking, albeit it very cold, day. A credit to the organisers for how smoothly things ran.

Also a mention to THV, who not only kindly offered the use of one of their Atlanteans for the day, but also allowed us to have a look around their premises and collection at Felling, which was a nice surprise!

Any sign of former Shields stalwart Volvo B10B / Alexander Strider M902DRG?

Yep, it's still there! Undergoing restoration at the moment I think.
I completely agree with Adrian. I found about this event late Saturday evening. It was an excellent day. Well done to the organisers. I'd definitely attend one of their events again.

Good to hear! Hopefully should be completed soon/near future, Haven't seen it since it left Shields in 2011!

Both of them will never be forgotten by me, It was indeed a ride on one of them ( I think it was sister 21001 ) on the E6 on a cold winters night back in 2006 that started my hobby in Buses for good.
The two of them were Brilliant at Shields while they were here, Was treated to it occasionally on my local 18 back home sometimes, Back when South Shields was full of interesting stuff.

Its hard to get over that we only have E200/E300 and E400s based here now.
The 3 MAN 18.240 E200s are pretty good however Tongue
I was in two minds whether to attend this event but I'm glad I turned out in the end.

The photo-stops were mercifully short and seemed to make the day run more smoothly. The two vehicles were in good mechanical condition and handled the outing without any noticeable hiccups; they are a real credit to the engineers who undoubtedly work hard to maintain them.

I hope this isn't a one-off event as it is definitely something I would attend again.
