Just got the E2 into South Shields and went past Laygate and saw the Harker'scoaches depot. About 3 silver coaches and a rusted what looked to be a 16 seater. Anyone got any info on these. Coaches looked quite old and the only sign of the company was on the side of the minibus

Never been around there just noticed it as the building in front of the depot is being rebuilt or something making the depot in view of the main road. Had a Harker's on a school trip years ago.

Hi I first visited Harkers when I was about 15 - in 1989! They've always been on Tudor Road but you should be aware there are two separate garages. The original garage is now mainly used by the Harker family for MOT and car repairs. They still keep some coaches there. Their withdrawn vehicles are in the yard next to this garage building.

The newer garage is the one on the corner. This has the withdrawn Van Hool outside and the majority of the operational vehicles are now parked here.

As for the vehicles being registered WEH, Mr Harker's full name is William Edwin Robson Harker.
