Site Update: 31/10/2016 - News, Fleet Lists & Photos

A belated Happy Halloween, everyone!

We've been working hard on the site for the past few weeks, which you'll now be able to see. You may need to clear your cache in order to see the updated versions. Some of the features are still a 'work in progress', but these will definitely be completed by the end of the month.

Fleet Lists
  • Minor cosmetic changes
  • Users can now filter by 'features' - ie Wi-Fi, Next Stop Announcements, etc. If the symbol is clicked, only the vehicles with those features will be displayed.
  • A new feature symbol has been introduced - USB sockets - due to the increased number of vehicles in Arriva and Go North East's fleet with this feature.
  • Following requests; users can now export the fleet list as an Excel Document, in addition to being able to view a PDF version of the fleet lists.
  • Cosmetic changes to Vehicle History section - example here
Changes which have been published to the fleet lists over the past few weeks will appear again tonight - one of the reasons behind a lack of updates recently has been while we upgrade to the new system, and wanting to reduce Liam's workload of 'converting' the old fleet lists to the new.

We've yet to finish the homepage for the new fleet list sections. In the mean time, please use the links below.

Arriva North East: http://northeastbuses.co.uk/fleet/list.p...rF=1&soldF=
Go North East: http://northeastbuses.co.uk/fleet/list.p...rF=2&soldF=
Stagecoach North East: http://northeastbuses.co.uk/fleet/list.p...rF=2&soldF=

The fleet lists for vehicles which have now been disposed will be available when we complete the new homepage.

News
  • Minor cosmetic changes
  • Better integration with fleet lists
  • New 'popular' feature - only the most popular news will be displayed under this section.
Photos
  • Minor cosmetic changes

Some links may not work yet. Feel free to drop me a PM if you spot anything that doesn't work correctly - chances are it will be something that hasn't yet been completed but will be before the end of the month.

You will continue to see minor changes to the above features on the website over the next few weeks, and we'll also be looking to launch our new Bygone Era at the start of the month. Some of you will notice the absence of the 'treasures from our archives' sections which we introduced to our photos and news pages in our last update - these will now be contained within the new-look Bygone Era, so we have all of this content in one place.

Cheers,
Dan

The fleet lists for vehicles which have now been disposed will be available when we complete the new homepage.

A temporary homepage has been created so users can easily access the fleet lists for the three large operators in the North East:
http://northeastbuses.co.uk/fleet/

We haven't yet created the links to the fleet lists for vehicles which have now been disposed of, but the direct links are as follows:

Arriva North East: http://northeastbuses.co.uk/fleet/list.p...=1&soldF=2
Go North East: http://northeastbuses.co.uk/fleet/list.p...=2&soldF=2
Stagecoach North East: http://northeastbuses.co.uk/fleet/list.p...=3&soldF=2

The beady-eyed among you may notice that the 'depot' column has now been updated for each of these vehicles to show which company they were sold to.

It's a long-term goal, but my aim is to continue to provide news for vehicles which have disposed of from the fleet, allowing us to track it through its entire life at Go North East and then after it was sold (until it's eventually scrapped / sold to a preservationist.

I've yet to complete all of the history from when it was in Go North East's fleet, but an example can be seen below:
