A shout out to anyone planning on going that most of the roads in Newcastle City centre are closed, tomorrow.

We've decided against it.

All buses are terminating on Market Street from Durham rather than going up John Dobson Street to Eldon Square, so not a major issue as you can get the Metro from Monument to Whitley Bay to avoid delays due to the road closures.

Just moving around the city centre is probably going to be pretty tricky mind. I expect there will be crowds of spectators and it's not a rally I'd put myself out for, TBH. We're going to the Seaburn transport day, next week, anyhow.

Could you not go back via Durham and a Purple Streetlite to Shields and get the ferry over?

It's a slog I admit and it's on a Purple Streetlite - for a long time... But at least it would get you there without facing the problems in the town.

We did contemplate the 50 (passes our house!), then ferry, but there's other steps after the ferry that we're not that confident of. It's a faff without the travel disruption, for an event less engaging than Howlands.

The Seasider goes to Whitley Bay from the ferry

It wont be attracting crowds as in spectators. Its a family event where they close the roads.
Anyone bother with this then? Is there much in attendance?

Was gonna go but couldn’t be bothered to drive up there. Was a bit annoyed though when I saw photos of the Scania Eclipse Fusion was there on Flickr later on. Hopefully it’ll appear at Seaburn.

Don't think they'd be able to get it on to the grounds for Seaburn.

they could get it on no bother, by opening the bottom gate

Would have thought the entrance off Chichester Road (where all of the vehicles enter) would have been fine, its just the one on the corner of Sea Lane/Seaburn Tce that's not good.
