It's just drove in and out of Eldon Square

Just had a thought about this, on a normal Mon - Sat daytime board what is the maximum number of 'round trips' (a round trip is 2hr 30m with layover time) a driver can do on the 308 considering that the depot and drivers' office is practically in Blyth Bus Station?

I know the maximum time a GNE driver can drive the 309 Mon-Sat would be 3hr 45mins as they have to count the time spent driving the float van between New York and Percy Main Depot.

Although my sighting of it, on the back of a low-loader heading northwards, was a way bit further south than this .....

Has already been mentioned on the other page
https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/1...s-service/

Bus provider Arriva said: “In 2018, the 56 route was subject to change which altered the route of this bus. The decision to change the route was not taken lightly and was necessary to improve punctuality for the majority of passengers who travel on this service.

“Arriva is working closely with Durham Country Council to identify actions that will speed up buses and therefore free-up the time needed to re-instate the route at Stobb Cross. To further improve punctuality, from Sunday, October 27, we are adding another vehicle to our fleet which will make our service more resilient to delays. In addition, we are introducing a revised timetable from January 5 that will allow buses more time to complete their journeys, especially at commuter times when there is growing traffic congestion in the Durham area.

“An invitation wasn’t received on this occasion, but we are always happy to meet with community groups.”

OP02 ARE has entered service and was on the 47 today. Here’s a photo of it having a rest at the RVI Hospital.

could be wrong here but its the bus manufacturers name but in the form of a number plate,OPTARE,as a number plate requires it to have numbers in it,i suppose 2 was chosen as Two starts with a T,and you pronounce the T in Two
