Aycliffe have there Shildon bus rally planned for Sunday August 22nd
Aycliffe website shows 5 buses attending atm.

Don't know if it's a phone problem but they can only be seen on a laptop or PC but phone won't show the entires
Does anyone know what vehicles will be attending
There's 5 atm. For some reason it won't show on the website if using a phone but laptop or PC works
Shildon Bus Rally is this Sunday 22nd. Held at the Locomotive museum. Don't expect it to be a massive turn out.
Last time I checked the museum website, a week ago, I didn't see any mention.

I'm assuming we don't have to book a place, since it's outside, though?
It's up on the website now
Yep, and you do need to book.

Tickets are easy to book, you get a QR code in an email which you can opt for morning or afternoon admission.

Give a little donation to help them if you can, they're still not quite trampled on by the science museum yet.
The event is free but shuttle service requires booking

Yep. I've done that. Thought it was worth mentioning though so other people don't turn up and find themselves disappointed.

Absolutely, The NRM in York is the same.

sadly the weather looks absolutely abysmal... fingers crossed it changes
See the thing with the Aycliffe Shildon rally is there isn't much in the way of buses.

Looking at what is entered (only if your on PC to see them) there is 10 enterd but I've been before and there is some buses that turned up that aren't enterd

The NRM in York is one place that won't be going back to out of principal.

When I went a couple years back, despite it being free entry, we still had to queue up and go through some tills where they try and embarrass you into giving them money. It started off with the old "Do you want to buy a guide book", when I said no, they then tried to get us to give them a 'voluntary donation', when I then said no to that they acted as if I'd just killed their child!

I thought there would have been a way in that bypassed all that shite, but apparently not! I'm sure it wasn't like that when I went a few years before that.

One thing I can't stand is people/charities begging for money, if you advertise something as 'free entry' then the first thing you do is try and get me to buy something, or ask for a 'voluntary' donation, they ain't getting a penny from me, no matter how good the place is.
I don't mind on the way out, but certainly not before I've even seen the place!

Anyway..... back somewhat on topic. I didn't realise websites that looked like theirs still exist!

Pleased you did as I may have considered going as some other plans I had for that day may have fallen through.

Think I'll give it a miss this year considering...
Sorry not willing to book to visit a rally. This is a clear breach of my civil liberties.

Will not be attending this year.

Maybe if no one turns up they'll get the message.

As for charities, whenever I'm stopped l just ask for confirmation of the chief executive's salary before I make a donation. If it's greater than mine the answer is a flat no to any request for money.

A gathering of colourful classic buses to brighten up your August.
Around 8–10 buses will go on display at Locomotion, in partnership with the Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Society.
The event includes mystery tour rides around the local area in vintage buses, with limited availability on a first come, first served basis—please ask for details on the day at our Welcome desk.
A general museum admission ticket is required for this event.
