The 14 gas buses based at Darlington depot are the process of being painted into the new 'Green Technology' livery including a seat re-trim. First to be done is ex demonstrator 4813 / WX61HSL:

Not sure what the point of less than half a swoosh is. It looks awful. I never was a fan if that garish blue anyhow. I looks OK on streetlites but not on anything bulkier.

I actually like the colour, but I do think it looks pathetic like

It's actually against the law to paint something in the NE that hasn't been through at least one agency...

I'll not argue that most of the ANE is overdue a tidy up (and, at the very least, a good scrub inside) but this one makes the buses look less attractive and hasn't been done with much thought for the vehicles it's applied to.
The livery can be tweaked to look a lot better than it does but sadly none of the divisions have the resource or skill to do it anymore, instead relying on templates either drawn by WPA Pinfold (design agency) or other divisions when they had design officers.
The livery application to the EcoCity isn't correct anyway.
4812 has now returned to Darlington after a short holiday to St Helen’s for a refurb, but it’s yet to see service
4806 has returned from repaint/ refurbishment and returned to service last Wednesday for the last two 5/5A dutys
4804 and 4810 have been repainted.
Have these reprints stopped? A couple are still dotting about Darlo in the old hybrid livery
Any update of the EcoCity fleet? Will they complete the repaints? Will they be staying at Darlington or moving on? ?
