RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - S813 FVK - 03 Jan 2019 (03 Jan 2019, 8:59 pm)Jamie M I think thats more advice than protocol, but I may be wrong. Yes I would take that view too. In the actual regulations (page 34 under 'Best Practice') it says: "A good destination and route number display will be clearly legible by day and night and commercial advertising should not detract from them." This isn't me defending them, I still don't like the display, but they technically aren't in breach of the regulations. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - Jamie M - 04 Jan 2019 (03 Jan 2019, 5:59 pm)S813 FVK I'm not a fan of it myself and glad it's only going to be around for this month.6168 has all the old programs on too. (03 Jan 2019, 5:54 pm)Adrian I wonder how long before drivers get sick of people asking where their bus is going, or sticking their hand out at the last minute, because they want the bus for 'Fencehouses' - not 'January App Sale'Interestingly, not one passenger commented on the displays to me throughout the day. I'm not sure I noticed a particular increase in the amount of m-tickets but I don't really keep a mental note of who paid with what. Be interesting to see the stats of which method of advert most motivates a customer in this sector. As a passenger I never read advertisements or looked for a better deal, where there probably was one to be had. Hopefully as more smart devices flood the network, more smart payments take place. I'd like to see some peak buses use contactless or pass use only, see how much difference it makes to cash in hand. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - GNE6312 - 04 Jan 2019 Is this display on the 309/310/X39
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - S813 FVK - 04 Jan 2019 (04 Jan 2019, 8:17 am)GNE6312 Unlikely. Seems just to be on the buses with the WiFi enabled controllers that can be updated remotely. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - Citaro5326 - 04 Jan 2019 (03 Jan 2019, 6:38 pm)Michael 4992 has been withdrawn from Deptford according to Go North East fleet news. It's minus it's engine in deptford. Uneconomical to repair id say RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - LeeCalder - 04 Jan 2019 I saw those January adverts on the destination blind of a Blaydon Racer Citaro today. It’s so crammed on you can barely read it. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - Michael - 04 Jan 2019 (04 Jan 2019, 11:36 am)Citaro5326 It's minus it's engine in deptford. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - Michael - 05 Jan 2019 726 and728 have arrived for the Sunderland Connect, they feature: Esteban Civic V3 seating complete with leather and soft topper foam for added comfort; two-colour Tarabus 'Wood Effect' flooring; and blue accent lighting, which is fitted underneath seats and on the stairwell, to provide extra light on the gangway. Like all of Go North East's new vehicles; they feature Wi-Fi, 'Next Stop' audio-visual announcements and USB connections as standard, although this is the first time USB power sockets have been included on an Optare new-build. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - Michael - 05 Jan 2019 (05 Jan 2019, 8:58 pm)Andreos1 Was it ever revealed where the current vehicles are going? Sunderland council own them but Go North East can buy them if they want but don't think they will. Gathering to provide extra capacity on the X6/X7 due to the Arriva strike, should've used deckers if any were available. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - Dan - 05 Jan 2019 (05 Jan 2019, 9:33 pm)Michael Seems a odd swap, why? (05 Jan 2019, 9:34 pm)Malarkey Gathering to provide extra capacity on the X6/X7 due to the Arriva strike, should've used deckers if any were available. No double-deck vehicles were available, so high capacity single-decks had to suffice. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - S813 FVK - 05 Jan 2019 (05 Jan 2019, 9:35 pm)Dan No double-deck vehicles were available, so high capacity single-decks had to suffice. Double deckers wouldn't get very far on the X6/X7 anyway with that low bridge near Seaham. Unless they were to divert around it of course. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - Michael - 05 Jan 2019 Oh i forgot about the strike Haha RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - S830OFT - 05 Jan 2019 Will Double Deckers be allocated to service X5 tommorow? RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2019 - Dan - 05 Jan 2019 (05 Jan 2019, 9:36 pm)S813 FVK Double deckers wouldn't get very far on the X6/X7 anyway with that low bridge near Seaham.
