(05 Dec 2016, 1:48 pm)RBZ 5459 The Scania E300 are probably the most suited vehicles for the route.

I agree.

There nothing different to the 15m Omnilinks though, Same mechanically ( obviously running on diesel instead of CNG and have more uprated power setting than the E300s )

I tend to find CNG fueled buses to have a bit more extra speed In them compared to Diesels, Have regularly achieved upwards of 65-70mph on Arriva's MAN Ceatanos on the X21, They also tend not to be speed limited for some reason, Reading Buses achieved 76mph on Millbrook test track using one of their Scania CNG E300s.

Probables why it'll do the run in 45 minutes, if the speed limiter thing isn't on haha

All the X34 buses do I think it has something to do with contactless cards

Yes, it is. I think all the Newcastle buses have them now so it won't be long before you will be able to pay for tickets using a contactless debit or credit card.

14670 is on a Private Hire today. To a junior school, by the looks of it.

Didn't know you could do private hires with Stagecoach   or GNE for that matter

(02 Dec 2016, 11:58 am)glen Hi if the buses 27506'10 are going to replace 03 mans at Stockton there have 10 03 mans left and what going to replace the last 5 03 man at Stockton than.

There's 9 actually (22012/4-20/6). No rush to replace them really as they're a couple of years younger still than the non DDAs were when they went, and they will still have 22061-6 of the type.

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Cock Robin - 06 Dec 2016

(02 Dec 2016, 5:03 pm)Dan I doubt it.

Stagecoach are usually quite slow to adapt to new technology. Next Stop Announcements have been around for 7 years now.

An express route wouldn't really be the ideal service to try it out on, either.

At the Stockton bus forum a few weeks back the Stagecoach representative said they had no plans for Next Stop Announcements on any services in that area as they 'divide opinion', True.

(02 Dec 2016, 6:08 pm)South Tyne Lad I think that's a bit to extreme tbh, But you never know.

They had one to Darlington which should never have been axed! No through buses at all now.

I'm mixed on them too, they aren't too bad, if you're only going a few stops but if you're going to the likes of Newcastle on the 56 from Sunderland, they can very annoying.

I think it's more acceptable on interurban routes, but for noddy services around town/city circuits I think it's not currently needed. I'm personally not a fan of them, but I suppose they are there to help the impaired, so their placement is for the good. Wouldn't be surprised if they introduced a ruling as part of DDA legislation in the years to come.

Urgh. They must have about four different variations of swoop livery on these Mk1s within the Group...!
