As thought, 24002 isn't painted yet. Was expecting to hear a bigger fuss if it was done.

It's undergoing prep at the moment - so whilst not strictly speaking repainted, it's almost there!

Did Stockton only get 1 Transbus E300? Saw it NIS in Billingham yesterday... not keen on the livery around the headlights though.

Not very important but noteworthy nonetheless..... Bdaily have posted a brief article on the new E200s at Slatyford: https://bdaily.co.uk/industrials/09-12-2016/stagecoach-invests-in-north-east-fleet-expansion/.

Quite impressed with the E200s. Slatyford's are the first ones I've sampled.

22036 is the latest Slatyford MAN to turn up for storage at Stockton - it's parked in the yard.

Is it only me that thinks they shouldn't be called E200MMC's? As these Stagecoach examples feature the 6 cylinder 250hp 6.7L Cummins ISBe ( The same powerplant in the E400MMC ) and the same chassis that the E300 used, which effectively makes it a Euro 6 E300.

Standard spec for them is usaually the 4.5L , 4 Cylinder ISBe which usually produces 185-210hp.

Will be to do with narrowing the product range, and concentrating marketing into one sole single-deck product being available in lots of length and options, making it quite attractive to buyers. The second gen E200 got pushed by ADL and the industry (i.e. 'Bus of Britain'), there was very little publicity for the E300 Mk2, with smaller operators tending to go for the E200. Plus for the difference of less than a metre you may as well bung it all in as one diverse product.

Not quite the same, and it isn't the same chassis that the E300 used. The long length E200 is essentially a reintroduced "SPD", now sitting at 11.5m with the standard 4.5 litre engine instead of 11.3m, with an extra 30cm added to the vehicle length to accommodate the optional larger 6.7 litre engine, which was also an option on the old shape E200.

Aye I guess, Will still miss the E300 as a product though, Large, Airey interior without the feel of being crammed in and minimal rattles or squeals.

Though I do think the build quality of the MMC's is way superior to the former E200 and E400

Indeed, Thanks for the correction.

Euro 5 6 Cylinder E200s sat at 11.1m, And still do in the Euro 6 MMC if specified,  While the long wheelbase 6 cylinder sits at 11.57m while the Euro 6 is lengthened by 2.4cm to accommodate the 6 Cylinder Cummins at 11.81m to precise

Let's hope they have sorted out the 'droop' at the back end, if they're stickting length and weight at the back like the SPD.

I've read elsewhere that the 200MMC is particularly bad for the undercarriage scraping on speed bumps due to how low they ride.

The Mk2 E200 also had similar issues. Carlisle City Council altered the bumps on the 76 route.
