RE: Go North East - Latest - Dan - 23 Dec 2013

(23 Dec 2013, 1:23 pm)andreos1 Have to admit to never taking my charger out with me on a night out mind Wink.

Should have been a bit more clear...
You (rather unfortunately) live in Blyth, and you're travelling home from work in Newcastle. You bring your charger to work with you, and use it when on the 309 home because you know you only have about 30 minutes in the house at tops before you go out again.
In the time it takes for you to get to Blyth, your phone can be relatively topped up battery-wise.

(23 Dec 2013, 1:23 pm)andreos1 Maybe worth retrofitting sockets onto the x1 and 21 Gemini's...
I imagine quite a few people travel point to point and run out of charge on those journeys.

Agree on this one.

Agree on this one.

That's what sockets at work are for :p

You almost had me, but what happens if you're not in the office that day? You're out and about doing another job? Tongue

RE: Go North East - Latest - ... - 23 Dec 2013

Or what happens when Percy Main allocate a single decker bus without sockets!

Just thinking of how I charge the if I am not in an office environment for the day...

In car/van/ chargers?
Usb charger?

Sure there will be others.

That really shouldn't happen because there are two spare vehicles...
No doubt it will, but it shouldn't - same as branded vehicles appearing on services they are not supposed to be allocated to.

Nevertheless - to answer your question, nothing will happen other than the fact passengers won't get the advertised perks of travelling with GNE on the Cobalt Clipper.

Anyone know if GNE have Laser dupes on today? I've just seen one pull into Park Lane with 'Sunderland' on the blind - SPD allocation. Came in from Shields.

RE: Go North East - Latest - Malarkey - 23 Dec 2013

(23 Dec 2013, 11:09 am)Dan On a slightly different note...

A further 13 new Volvo B9TL/Wright Gemini for Fab56 and Cobalt Connect have been delivered, please see the fleet list for details of the fleet numbers and registration marks.

MPDs 502: X502 WRG and 503: X503 WRG have been withdrawn from service at Peterlee.

MPDs 501, 510, 512, 515, 518, 519, 520, 521, 522, 523, 532, 533 and 534 have been sold to Ensign Bus Co. and Citaro artics 5349, 5351, 5355 and 5356 to Optare Group Ltd.

Hey, I didn't know that the Cobalt Connect was getting brand new B9s... Must be a pretty big frequency increase to go with it too! Wink

NL63 YCK/NL63 YRG and NL63 VJH are to be added/delivered, One of those should be Red, Meaning there should be one more left to make the total of 34 B9's, Hopefully said 4 will Arrive Today or Tomorrow if there not already here that is.

I thought they were all here, hopefully the last 4 arrive today.

Least all the FAB 56 buses are here =D

RE: Go North East - Latest - Dan - 23 Dec 2013

Doubt it.
Wrights don't usually deliver this week.

They could be here, I'm sure Daniel will confirm it as there not yet on the Fleetlist

As far as I'm aware, they're not.
No arrivals last Thursday or Friday, and as I said above, Wrights dont usually deliver this week with it being Christmas.
The final four B9s should be here by next Friday.

Might be branded as Cobalt Connect?

RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 23 Dec 2013

(23 Dec 2013, 2:56 pm)Dan Doubt it.
Wrights don't usually deliver this week.

Shame, would of being good for all 34 to be here, then least from the 27th to the 30th they could be prepared for service with the drivers taking the wheel maybe from the 4th January, seems now its gonna be the week after that... 6.1.14

Yeah that is true with it being Christmas, I noted them 3 down off that link you posted last week Daniel and they were on Heysham Docks then as I looked through the Photos to make sure I allocated the Reg Plates to the Correct Brand on my Personal Fleetlist

RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 23 Dec 2013

Will any of the buses which require a re-paint be stuck at Saltmeadows over Christmas?

When do they resume painting etc?

RE: Go North East - Latest - Dan - 23 Dec 2013

(23 Dec 2013, 3:02 pm)Tom Might be branded as Cobalt Connect?

I think it would have just been a typo.
Would be far too confusing for the 309/310 to come under the same brand name as the 19.

(23 Dec 2013, 3:03 pm)Michael Shame, would of being good for all 34 to be here, then least from the 27th to the 30th they could be prepared for service with the drivers taking the wheel maybe from the 4th January, seems now its gonna be the week after that... 6.1.14

Indeed, would have been nice.
I think that the Fab56 B9s may enter service on 05/01/14 as the Christmas/New Year disruption is over by then, and it allows for the Next Stop Announcements to be fully tested before entering service. Deptford drivers should be familiarised with the B9 now.
I'd imagine the Cobalt Clipper B9s would enter service the Sunday after, with promotion starting from the back end of next week perhaps.

(23 Dec 2013, 3:09 pm)Michael Will any of the buses which require a re-paint be stuck at Saltmeadows over Christmas?

When do they resume painting etc?

Depots won't (or rather, shouldn't) send the vehicles if they won't be repainted until after Christmas.

Thornton's should commence painting again from w/c 30th December.
Saltmeadows should commence painting again from w/c 6th January.

I explained before that Thornton's usually only have the Christmas week off their usual duties because it's their job to repaint buses etc, whereas I doubt Saltmeadows will be fully staffed again until 6th January.

RE: Go North East - Latest - Dan - 23 Dec 2013

Oh, and speaking of fleet lists...
I think NEB's GNE fleet list is now up to date. PM me with any errors or things I've forgotten...

Will do SC followed by Arriva now, as I've just gotten back home.

Should start on adding photos again once all are updated.

RE: Go North East - Latest - peter - 23 Dec 2013

I advise you use Richard Smiles fleetlists to update the site ones Dan, he has kept updating while you have been un able to.

(23 Dec 2013, 3:27 pm)peter I advise you use Richard Smiles fleetlists to update the site ones Dan, he has kept updating while you have been un able to.

That was the plan Wink
I've been helping Richard out with updates in quick e-mails so that he could keep on top of them all which would help me out in the long run.
