RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - Ambassador - 09 Jun 2021 I’m not suggesting this is the case but we have an agreement with clients and vice versa at work at the moment to lower service levels if we’re impacted by Covid (self isolating mainly) It’s fairly open to abuse to lower headcount, save some cash and continue to legally fulfil the contract It’s potentially what we’re seeing here, one small outbreak of isolation case at GCT and you can see how services would be impacted. RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - Adrian - 10 Jun 2021 (09 Jun 2021, 9:55 pm)Ambassador I’m not suggesting this is the case but we have an agreement with clients and vice versa at work at the moment to lower service levels if we’re impacted by Covid (self isolating mainly) It’s fairly open to abuse to lower headcount, save some cash and continue to legally fulfil the contract I think many businesses had the same arrangements in place with customers last year, after a lot of frantic reviewing of BCPs. You'd however expect those cases to be referred to as either timetable changes or disruptions on the Nexus website. In the cases listed above, I couldn't see anything: https://www.nexus.org.uk/bus RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - Jimmi - 10 Jun 2021 Supposedly 10 members of staff have left within the last fortnight. More have apparently been taken on but seemingly not fast enough unfortunately. Does concern me how many have left in such a short period of time for a firm the size of GCT although think some just hated the shifts especially as they run for most of the day, 7 days a week now. RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - Jimmi - 10 Jun 2021 (10 Jun 2021, 3:31 pm)Micheal Aaron What the chances they start losing contracts now.I'm going with slim to none RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - V514DFT - 10 Jun 2021 They wont lose contracts just because 10 people have left the company RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - streetdeckfan - 10 Jun 2021 With the reputation GCT have I wonder how easy it'll be for them to re-fill those roles RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - MetrolineGA1511 - 13 Jun 2021 I did see a 319 yesterday but had planned my itinerary not to need it. As it is buses, trains and land scenery I like rather than boats and water, I didn't use the ferry either. I did North and South Shields on different days, North on Wednesday and South yesterday. As an aside, I even went back to the same ice cream place in South Shields as in 2017! RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - 6049 - 15 Jun 2021 (09 Jun 2021, 12:47 am)6049 Heard a few grumblings about some of the Washington service missing or early/late. Bloke was waiting for the 85 at the other night, was there a few mins before it was due, and he was still there 15mins later. Last time I saw him, he was looking the other way to see if it was running on its way back from Brady Square.Update: it didn't run in other direction, and apparently the complaint to Nexus fell on deaf ears. RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - V514DFT - 15 Jun 2021 (15 Jun 2021, 12:20 pm)ASX_Terranova This is getting ridiculous, can the police do anything. They'd probably just laugh, just done a bit of digging, and if your not happy with the response from Nexus, you could try these enquiries@dvsa.gov.uk https://bususers.org/contact-us/ RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - ASX_Terranova - 15 Jun 2021 (15 Jun 2021, 12:27 pm)V514DFT They'd probably just laugh Are nexus doing this on purpose i.e. awarding GCT the contract because of the lowness of bids in order to save a bit of cash, whilst not caring if the bus operates or not. If they are then isn't that fraud. RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - V514DFT - 15 Jun 2021 (15 Jun 2021, 12:40 pm)ASX_Terranova Are nexus doing this on purpose i.e. awarding GCT the contract because of the lowness of bids in order to save a bit of cash, whilst not caring if the bus operates or not. If they are then isn't that fraud.I honestly dont know RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - Ambassador - 15 Jun 2021 (15 Jun 2021, 12:40 pm)ASX_Terranova Are nexus doing this on purpose i.e. awarding GCT the contract because of the lowness of bids in order to save a bit of cash, whilst not caring if the bus operates or not. If they are then isn't that fraud. Yes. Pretty much. I’m not sure how you leap to fraud (which even if tampering was occurring, which it isn’t, it’s not fraud) Nexus are cash strapped. The lowest bid will always win through. They don’t have the investment or resource to care otherwise RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - ASX_Terranova - 15 Jun 2021 (15 Jun 2021, 6:16 pm)Ambassador Yes. Pretty much. I’m not sure how you leap to fraud (which even if tampering was occurring, which it isn’t, it’s not fraud) Maybe, i'm thinking wrong but it does seem very dodgy though, especially if you include the recent MOT saga. Gateshead Central Taxis - 6049 - 15 Jun 2021 Think at least two or three of the new E200s are running around with no front destination blind working. 82 due in at the Galleries at half 11 last night was in at least 4mins early and took the stand which forced the 50A which came in on time to use the drop off stand so he didn't block the bus station. Aye-ay-ayeYea from the transport lesne video its RUC is one of them. There 21 plate buses and no front destination RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - Micheal Aaron - 16 Jun 2021 Was on the W3. The driver was talking to his passenger at the front He said roughly nearest 20 drivers left last week. The bus on the W2 didn't have a ticket machine He said that they keep getting awarded contracts but don't have the drivers nor the buses He said last week (Wednesday if I remember correctly what he said. The W3 didn't run at all RE: Gateshead Central Taxis - V514DFT - 16 Jun 2021 (16 Jun 2021, 6:55 pm)Micheal Aaron Was on the W3.
