why not send the E400 to south shields and send the E300 from south shields to Stockton to replace some of 53,o3 man from Stockton south shields need E400 more than Stockton do.

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2016 - AIG20 - 08 May 2016

(08 May 2016, 7:44 pm)Michael But Stockton won't need any Enviro 400's soon, don't see the point in sending loads to Stockton just for them to sit in the depot and only used once a day.

They should go on a service which needs them, mostly Newcastle services.

Even the E1/2/6 but it seems unlikely as they're only really busy during Spring/Summer.

I won't be surprised if there will be an increase in passengers on the E2 (towards Sunderland) and the E1 (towards South Shields) when services 18/19 are rerouted. When not needed on the X34 an E400 is regularly seen on the "E" Services.

I wonder whether there will be more decker's loaned to South Shields/Sunderland for the Air Show (assuming the ADL E400 MMCs arrive and enter service by then)?

(08 May 2016, 7:55 pm)Kuyoyo Stockton don't have any school services come September. The E400s are said to be for front-line services that require additional capacity on journeys.

Ye, which is the reason i said it would be pointless to send them but that went out the window, haha

Reason is.. I don't really know Stockton so i wasn't sure so i just went ahead and took a guess Wink.

How often would the E400's be used at Stockton on front-line services?

Why not some more double deckers to South Shields to be used on E1/2/6 services in stead of the 27's. Regards Robin

5 could transfer to shields from Newcastle displacing 27723-27 to slatyford allowing 5 mans to be withdrawn

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2016 - glen - 08 May 2016

The E300 no 27's are really good buses for services in Stockton and Middlesbrough road. I think and E300 no 24's are good buses to.

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2016 - Robin Tait - 08 May 2016

Let's hope it happens.Regards Robin goodnight

E400s on the Es would be great, Though a mixed allocation doesn't always solve the capacity problem and some MANs in Newcastle could be replaced with these E400s instead of ex Shields E300s which someone suggested above.
Best place for them in my opinion is to keep them in Newcastle and boost capacity on other routes not receiving investment.

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2016 - northern156 - 08 May 2016

What's the usual crack with buses being transferred to other depots with Stagecoach? Is it just other depots in the north east or can it be countrywide?

I remember when the Stagecoach in Cumbria's Carlisle-based Enviro 200s were moved, original rumours dictated they'd all be moved to other Cumbria & North Lancashire depots (ie Lancaster, Kendal etc) however they eventually went to Plymouth - a bit of a jump!!

Will this be the case for the Newcastle E400s or is the situation somewhat fluid at the moment?

Will the E400MMCs run on the X63 as it DOESN'T interwork with the 62/63

I think the 62/63 interwork with the X63 at peak times, however I may be wrong.

I've heard that a handful of E400's will be transferring to Cumbria for the Lake service's.

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2016 - Kuyoyo - 09 May 2016

Ok, several things to somewhat answer here:

RE. Vehicle transfers
It's random, however very rarely has any cascades as a result of new vehicles resulted in the cascading of vehicles outside the North East region (the Scania Gas Buses in 2014 and South Shields' E200s last year being the most recent examples). Usually, stock is retained within the North East and reallocated where needed.

RE: E400MMCs
Unless things have changed, there used to be an X63 working that worked onto 62/63 on a evening. If that remains, I wouldn't be surprised if, for sakes of retaining the same standard of vehicle used in the 62/63, Walkergate's spare E400MMC isn't allocated to that board.

RE: E400s to North West
It is currently going aroind (from a well known and trusted poster on other forums) that Cumbria and North Lancashire are due to receive cascaded E400s to ultimately replace Olympians. Nothing at present suggests that any of the Newcastle examples will be heading that way however.

Darts went to the the South East and South West last year.
We have received B10Ms, MAN ALX300s, Darts and deckers transferred from other areas in the past.

(08 May 2016, 12:54 pm)AIG20 Oh Dear! It seems the Ex Scotland ADL E400s aren't coping very well on the X34... - https://www.flickr.com/photos/57722398@N03/26232897124/

I assume that the Pointer Dart, looking more ready for the scrapyard, is 34401. I won't be surprised if it is being used for "component recovery" or for training purposes.
