Go North East

Chester Road in Sunderland is closed due to an accident. Services 2, 2A, 39 & 78 are operating via Kayll Road & Hylton Road. Service 35 is operating via Durham Road direct to the Barnes while service 700 is operating via Durham Road & Ormonde Street to the Royal Hospital.

Edit:

Sunderland Update: Service 700 diversion has been revised, due to an extended Police cordon; this service is omitting Royal Hospital, Millfield & St Marks Rd, and is waiting time outside Sunderland University. All other services are diverting via Hylton Rd & Kayll Rd.

------------

Further to the RTC we are dealing with on the Queen Alexandra Bridge - the bridge is now closed in both directions. There are natural diversions in place via the A1231/Pallion Road to the Northern Spire.

Sunderland Update: We are diverting service 8 due to a second incident on the Queen Alexandra bridge. This service will operate between Hylton Riverside & the City Centre via the 36 route (Stadium & Wearmouth bridge).

Sadly 3819 has went to scrap after 20 years of service with go north east. It is the last yellow bus to be scraped. If only they could of kept it and in regular service too so I could go on it loads

Sadly DDA stopped that, there are still plenty of good buses left with Go North East.

Also the rules that the EU has imposed, hope the UK doesn’t keep the rule, made too cheap these days than before we joined the EU.

Surprised the preservationists didn't make a move on one of the last trio of Olympians, but maybe they'd been driven a touch too much into the ground.  Plus there's only so much money available to buy old buses, and maybe there's none to spare at the moment ...

3814 and 3833 have survived into preservation already, but as with anything, it can be saved if someone is willing to cough up the cash.

That is often the problem. Lots of calls, but not much in the way of contributions. We can't keep looking on the same few groups of preservationists to buy up buses.

The EU isn't responsible for the DDA, it's an entirely british conception.

How long has 9083 got left with go north east. They should just buy it for the permanent fleet rhen repaint it to the New cooperative livery and re fleet number it so it does not have a demonstrator 90- - fleet number and keep ir at percy main depot for the 309/310

Why would they buy it? It would cost to bring it up to GNE standards and it would be a oddball in the fleet.

(17 Sep 2018, 8:18 pm)NewcastleOne Why would they buy it? It would cost to bring it up to GNE standards and it would be a oddball in the fleet.

Because it is a good bus. They could also buy more 68 plate metrodeckers to join it. They are perfect buses for go north east to have for the 309/310

And I'm sure if Go North East think that it is a good bus, and to a higher standard than anything Volvo/Wright/ADL are offering, then they would buy them.

However, I still don't think (someone can correct me if I've missed it) there's been a large order of any Metrodeckers yet from any operator, which probably tells you all you need to know.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2018 - Rapidsnap - 17 Sep 2018

Reading Buses have ordered 5 diesel versions for Green Line services for delivery in the first half of 2019.

Metroline have 31 electric versions on order for TFL service 134 from next Summer.

Are 6911 and 6912 at Percy Main yet? Never seen them, and there seems to be a high amount of Cobalt Clippers and Coasters being used on Scholars.
