RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - Dan - 08 Jun 2019 (08 Jun 2019, 1:33 pm)Jamie M Agree - what both services need, in my opinion, is a dedicated spare vehicle of the same specification. Clearly 6332 has served this purpose at Crook for some time now, although now forms part of the PVR at Crook itself. I'd say things seemed to go much smoothly once 6332 was made available as the preferred spare vehicle for the X21. RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - Jamie M - 08 Jun 2019 (08 Jun 2019, 1:35 pm)Dan Need more spares full stop. But I can't see it happening. Buses sitting around doing nowt some days is no good to a business! RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - Stanleyone - 08 Jun 2019 (08 Jun 2019, 2:00 pm)Jamie M But does come in handy when the metro goes down. RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - Dan - 10 Jun 2019 A sneak-peak of the liveries for some of the double-decks on order this year: https://twitter.com/MartijnGNE/status/1138085357373841409 RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - JP6004 - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 2:46 pm)Dan A sneak-peak of the liveries for some of the double-decks on order this year: Have to say it does look impressive. Take it from this some of the streetdecks are for toonlink X30/X70/X71, E400 for X31 and rest for red kite? RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2019 - Venturego - 10 Jun 2019 Some interesting Photos of the 31 new Streetdecks on order - various photos of colour themes based on X Lines branding featured on Martijn Gilbert's twiiter page:
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2019 - streetdeckfan - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 3:13 pm)Venturego The E400 certaintly suits the XLines livery better than the Streetdeck, in fact it manages to make the Streetdeck look ugly, which is a first for me! Plus, I think them rounding off the window on the stairs just doesn't go with the front end styling, it's supposed to be angular! So much for Martijn hating vinyls on the windows, maybe they should have just cut the Milennium Bridge and part of the X off! RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2019 - Stanleyone - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 3:31 pm)streetdeckfan Maybe no one will stand on the stairs and have the vinyl blocking their view ? RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2019 - Michael - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 3:31 pm)streetdeckfan 100% agree on that it suits the E400's RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2019 - JP6004 - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 3:31 pm)streetdeckfan The rounding off is done by vinyl (10 Jun 2019, 3:42 pm)Michael 100% agree on that it suits the E400's The E400 seems to be rendered in higher spec than the streetdeck. Notice how dull the wheels are and lack of reflection in the windows. Also the colour not as vibrant on streetdeck RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2019 - streetdeckfan - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 4:18 pm)JP6004 The Streetdeck render looks a bit half arsed to be honest, like you say, they obviously rendered it with a lower quality. I know whenever I've rendered out my models it's the reflections that take the time, so they probably rendered the E400 properly and realised it takes bloody ages and dropped the quality on the next render! I also wonder if they'll be moving away from the Civic V3 seats with the new Streetdecks or whether they just left the stock seats in the model they used RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2019 - Dan - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 4:34 pm)streetdeckfan The vehicle manufacturers produce these, not Go North East. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2019 - streetdeckfan - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 4:36 pm)Dan That explains it then, although I'm surprised GNE didn't do them internally, it wouldn't be too much effort RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - S813 FVK - 10 Jun 2019 Does it really matter? It's only a mock up that isn't going to end up on any promotional material. I'm sure any minor faults can be let go. RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - streetdeckfan - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 4:44 pm)S813 FVK Does it really matter? It's only a mock up that isn't going to end up on any promotional material. I'm sure any minor faults can be let go. I didn't say there was any fault, I was just pointing out that one is significantly better quality than the other. And the fact that they were produced by the manufacturers rather than inhouse by GNE explains that RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - Michael - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 2:46 pm)Dan A sneak-peak of the liveries for some of the double-decks on order this year: From Twitter: Martijn Gilbert @MartijnGNE 5h5 hours ago Yes, our first ADL order for 15 years. More news on routes etc... in a couple of weeks time once it’s all finalised and briefed out internally to colleagues first. RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - BeachBoy99 - 10 Jun 2019 I hope X-lines isn't going to be distributed onto all of their express services... the liveries they have are fine. GNE are just standardising all of their liveries like Arriva and Stagecoach; they're really making a mistake. It's diverse now and needs to stay that way. Sure it was confirmed, all the Express routes will be under the X-Lines brand, and normal routes under the current 2019 livery - unless branded and will be brand will absorbed in to fleet livery base, with a different colour - example - Coast and Cobalt. I like the idea of having a separate brand for the Express routes. Will the fleet numbers be: Streetdecks - 6334 - 6365 E400 - 6366-6368 E200- 5488-5499 RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions - BeachBoy99 - 10 Jun 2019 (10 Jun 2019, 7:24 pm)Michael Sure it was confirmed, all the Express routes will be under the X-Lines brand, and normal routes under the current 2019 livery - unless branded and will be brand will absorbed in to fleet livery base, with a different colour - example - Coast and Cobalt. Think they're just making a mistake. They have this fleet of bright and colourful liveries and they're about to be replaced by all gold. Fantastic brand strategy - not. |
