Ok, so as reported on Haltons website they are meant to soon be aquiring new minibuses as if you don't know already Halton is taking on the 200 service that connects Runcorn employment centres with the Old town, and the railway stations. They are taking over the 200 on the 16th of February so if they are to bring in "new" minibuses then it will be in the next few weeks. It has been suggested that they will buy another 2 secondhand Optare solos to bring there tally of them upto 8. Buying these Solos is the first time in along time that Halton have purchased 2nd hand buses however so far it has paid of, thoughts on possible vechiles please!

They have spare buses but not necessarily solos, but they have stated there intention to buy new buses on there website.

seen 4206 for first time before, very good job by the arriva paint and repair team on this bus.
annoyingly i had Optare Solo 678 on the 33 this morning, This Bus is just to small for the route and should not be allocated

Yep, the use of solos on the 17/17a has been pretty enoying. The plan was that when they bought the other 3 the 2 was going to be entirely solo operated but it doesn't seem to have come to frutation. They say they are purchasing "brand new minibuses" they had a solo sr on trial about a year ago, prehaps if buying brand new may be solo srs??
