Tbh you could send some of the Euro 6's to Deptford as spares. But if GNE do get them I wonder if they'll re-do the interior. When does the Low Emission zone come in? RE: Fleet Changes - DRS37419 - 06 May 2022 (05 May 2022, 9:32 pm)Unber43 Might be to also replace the 06 G1's.With them being Ex London I believe they will already be E6. I'd assume the B7s going and them taking there place or spares at depots that run into Newcastle RE: Fleet Changes - ne14ne1 - 06 May 2022 Covid vaccination solo has finished its Covid duties: https://twitter.com/newcastlegps/status/1522195449939214337?s=21&t=78s8YVSyATPCwRe0HT2gGQ RE: Fleet Changes - wibblejunior - 06 May 2022 (05 May 2022, 8:02 pm)Malarkey The following E400's are shown as withdrawn with Go-Ahead London. In my opinion it seems highly unlikely it's any of these. Most of the SN06 batch still seem to be in use with GAL's commercial fleet. LX06 EYZ and EZA/B/C are with See London By Night. the rest of the LX06 batch is with Plymouth Citybus alongside LX56 EUB, but I have no idea where ETJ is. As for the Abellio batch, I doubt it'd be any of these either, as most if not all of those have been sold already (19 of them are with The Green Bus of Birmingham) RE: Fleet Changes - Rapidsnap - 10 May 2022 One time convertiable Scania N94UD / ELC Omnidekka 3996 which has previously being used as a Christmas Tree at Riverside has now departed, no doubt to the scrapyard. RE: Fleet Changes - ian foster - 11 May 2022 (06 May 2022, 9:44 am)ne14ne1 Covid vaccination solo has finished its Covid duties:I wonder if it will return to it's previous duties RE: Fleet Changes - V514DFT - 11 May 2022 (11 May 2022, 9:01 am)ian foster I wonder if it will return to it's previous dutiesProbably not as the 41/41A uses streetlites now,not sure about the 19,but last i heard was that the little coasters are no more RE: Fleet Changes - BusLoverMum - 12 May 2022 The last little coaster I saw was sitting in Peterlee bus station, at the weekend, on staff shuttles. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk RE: Fleet Changes - streetdeckfan - 10 Aug 2022 So is the 684 pretty much always allocated a Solo now? I used it yesterday lunch time and both journeys it was a Solo, and it was packed. I think there were only 3 seats free by the time we left Eldon Square. RE: Fleet Changes - OrangeArrow49 - 10 Aug 2022 (10 Aug 2022, 11:29 pm)streetdeckfan So is the 684 pretty much always allocated a Solo now? Really? The 684 is usually quite empty, and doesn't spend long in Eldon Square. Just 1 bus per hour, mostly a Solo allocated, suggests the service isn't very popular. Any ideas where these passengers were going? Usually anyone getting on at Eldon Square is going to either Throckley or Hexham and usually nobody gets on after Eldon Square for quite some distance and likewise nobody alights. For the most part I only use the 684 between Eldon Square and Denton Burn, and I have seen people get on in Fenham before. I only used it as far as the General Hospital as I was just dropping some stuff off for work, but judging by the conversations I was eavesdropping on, it's been getting quite busy recently. A few of the passengers were complaining about how busy it's been. I wouldn't even say it's because of the school holidays as I think I was one of the youngest people on the bus! RE: Fleet Changes - Storx - 11 Aug 2022 (10 Aug 2022, 11:29 pm)streetdeckfan So is the 684 pretty much always allocated a Solo now? Some of the Versa's at Hexham seem to be VOR. I'm assuming, if these are staying at Hexham, it will be to see off the last 2 61 plates which are hanging on when the rest of the batch including newer ones have been withdrawn rather than the Versa's. RE: Fleet Changes - peter - 11 Aug 2022 (10 Aug 2022, 11:29 pm)streetdeckfan So is the 684 pretty much always allocated a Solo now? Since the service changes the Hexham interworking pattern sees 3 Versa's allocated to the 680, 688 and even hour 684's from Hexham while 3 Solo's are allocated to the AD122, 687 and odd hour 684's from Hexham during the day. Peak times slightly more jumbled as the bus used on the 686 during the day comes into play (and operates the afternoon X85). Solo's are standalone now on the 74, 681, 686 and 689. It seems one of those Versa boards has been allocated a Solo every day for the past week and a bit, presumably because 5377 and 78 are both off road. RE: Fleet Changes - OrangeArrow49 - 11 Aug 2022 (10 Aug 2022, 11:52 pm)streetdeckfan I only used it as far as the General Hospital as I was just dropping some stuff off for work, but judging by the conversations I was eavesdropping on, it's been getting quite busy recently. A few of the passengers were complaining about how busy it's been. Ah, usually the 47 is the best service for the General Hospital. That or the X82. I don't see why the 684 would be particularly busy, as it duplicates bus and train services and doesn't offer many connecting GNE services. RE: Fleet Changes - streetdeckfan - 11 Aug 2022 (11 Aug 2022, 10:45 am)OrangeArrow49 Ah, usually the 47 is the best service for the General Hospital. That or the X82. I had a GNE ticket so would have used it regardless. But, having said that, it genuinely was the fastest connection from the X21 as I think I only had a 3 minute wait. You say it doesn't offer many connecting GNE services, but that's assuming the people are travelling towards Hexham as their initial journey. If they're on their return journey, then they have had connecting GNE services to just about anywhere they could want from Eldon Square. RE: Fleet Changes - OrangeArrow49 - 11 Aug 2022 (11 Aug 2022, 11:08 am)streetdeckfan I had a GNE ticket so would have used it regardless. But, having said that, it genuinely was the fastest connection from the X21 as I think I only had a 3 minute wait. Of course you would have a GNE ticket as the X21 is your local service. A 3 minute wait is amazing. Northumberland County Council could connect the 684/74 as they fund both services and they run either side of Fenham, Hexham and I'm sure other places along the route. The more connections the better. Although there are too many Stagecoach routes in Fenham/Denton Burn/West Denton. Hopefully the 684 will continue to exist in the long term, but I doubt it will. RE: Fleet Changes - xpm - 11 Aug 2022 For the most part - even pre-COVID most X84/684 journeys could comfortably be allocated a solo without any issues - sure, sometimes they would have been fuller - but is that a bad thing? Pre-COVID you had 3 what I would call TWIRLY expresses - the 9.40 & 10.40 from Hexham, X85 and the 2-ish X84/X85 from Newcastle (TWIRLYs wanting to get home before the schools kicked out). Patronage disappeared at these times and never really came back after this. There was a bit of a return, and some sort of loyalty when the deckers were on, but nowhere near the numbers they used to get. Could sometimes leave Hexham and be full and standing by Corbridge - especially if the 685 was missing. Passengers from Newcastle varied - moreso when an X82 was missing - and too be honest a fair few got the X84 as it was cheaper to Throckley than both the X82 or the 685. Again the school time x84s had more of a load, but this again varied year on year and as term goes on the numbers get less. 684 still connected Ovington/Ovingham/Wylam both ways, but the more senior passengers just don't travel the same way they did pre-COVID. Peak afternoon X85s used to be busy, but again post covid - people worked from home and never returned in the same numbers. This time of year there's usually more teenagers travelling down to wylam/Ovingham to go down the river for the day from NCL way - they can often travel in groups of a dozen or more, but asides that there's little difference otherwise.
