Disruptions and driver shortages - cbma06 - 17 Jul 2022

(17 Jul 2022, 6:12 pm)Unber43 And when the 55 is cancalled, there is no way to get to Houghton from Peterlee.

You can't write it, cancelling a relatively reliable service encouraging people to travel to newcastle, instead of Sunderland, take that bus off and there isn't one for 90 mins to 120 mins, great planning.

You honestly can't write this absolute s*it show

Doesn’t the X1 go from Peterlee to Houghton

Not to sound too parochial and all, but, to be fair, Newcastle has a lot more to offer than Sunderland. I know where I'd rather go...

All of these are cancalled from Peterlee to Houghton on the X1, what I am trying to say GNE "encouraging" people to use the X1, while a lot of people have to wait 2 hours for a single bus ona. Monday while the other service is being cancelled, which the 55 has had quite a bad run of cancellation, but never 3 in a row.

I agree, Newcastle is nicer, Sunderland is the closer option, and I think a lot of people would rather go to the closer location. If they want to go to Newcastle from Peterlee use the X10.

How many people? Are there really hordes of people travelling from Houghton to Peterlee on a Sunday afternoon?

(17 Jul 2022, 5:51 pm)Ambassador Think GNE have missed a trick here by not following the rail operators and whacking out a DO NOT TRAVEL warning.
Surprised there was no patter about everyone being at the coast, so they were not going to run buses.
Similar to their messages ahead of the Sunderland Play Off Final. But just slightly different.

What has Monday lost? Is Monday looking for something? Am I searching the vicinity of Monday?

True dat. Ever since Pennywell was demolished and dispersed, I think those seagulls are probably responsible for most of the crime in the city centre these days, especially when someone is eating their Greggs out in the open.

Do you have any plans for this coming Monday which may be scuppered by disruption?

Not sure about that Newcastle Quayside is riddled with Kittiwakes which are part of the Seagull family. Arguably the rare birds have chosen Newcastle Wink

Rare, but arguably more refined too. Says a lot about the bird population and where they prefer to settle.
