General TV thread - R852 PRG - 01 Apr 2015

Can't really remember my favourite shows as a little one, but here are a few I can recall:

• Thomas & Friends (ultimate show for a boy)
• Tom & Jerry
• Brum
• Come Outside (always loved that)
• Blue's Clues (was some sort of morning show that I remember, was presented by a black man with a blue jumper or something haha)
• Teletubbies
• SpongeBob (never gets old, sometimes when I'm bored out of my skull and suffering from daytime TV, I put it on! Tongue)

I'm sure there's loads more. I think CBeebies, Nick Jr. and NickToons were the places to be!

RE: General TV thread - Andreos1 - 01 Apr 2015

Big fan of Roadrunner, Warner Bros cartoons and some Hanna Barbara stuff like Wacky Races, Top Cat, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones etc.

Growing up with younger brothers and then my own kids, I enjoyed some of the stuff from their periods too.

In no particular order.

Thomas the Tank
Postman Pat
Willo the Wisp
Bananaman
He Man
Thundercats
The Cramp Twins
Rugrats
Terrorhawks
Rugrats
In the night garden
Henrys Cat
Rocko's Modern Life
The Simpsons
Moomins
Bertha
Poddington Peas
Dangermouse
The Janet and Alan Aalberg books, which were made into a series (Funnybones etc).

Some of the series have been mentioned before, but can't always be different!

(05 Apr 2015, 7:49 pm)citaro5284 Watching new series of Vera...Brenda Blethyn plays the part very well imo

Might watch it in an hour or so once it's on catch up. Is it something I'd have to watch from series 1 or will I be alright starting with a new series?

RE: General TV thread - Adrian - 05 Apr 2015

(05 Apr 2015, 7:55 pm)citaro5284 It is a different case each week.  Tonight is a new series, think there is only 3 or 4 made.

Tonight's is set around Whitley Bay Caravan Park and beach.

Nice one. I'll give it a watch later!

You sure it was Whitley Bay Caravan Park?
There was a big sandbank/estuary in one of the shots, which made me think it was further up the coast towards Goswick Sands or (if they were desperate), Sandy Bay and Newbiggin.

RE: General TV thread - Andreos1 - 09 Apr 2015

Haven't watched Eastenders for a long time prior to tonight, but all of a sudden there seem to be a stack of well known actors/actresses in it.

Timothy West, Denise Van Outen, the fella from Brush Strokes and Flash adverts, a baddy from Dr Who? (no idea of her name, but she has been in other stuff) and a lass from This Life.
Then Martin is played by a different fella.

Quite sad tonight, as they announced that Jim has died (John Bardon), as he died late last year in real life.

Liked Jim Branning in it.
