Does anyone know anything about this, since it should have started on Monday? It hasn't been very well publicised, and I can't seem to find any information about it.

I have found PCL to be ghostly

If you call the number it calls someone random in Prudhoe, the 79 appears to have a stupid unrealistic timetable and it never comes on a morning since PCL took over. I cannot find any timetables for anything and I think the only way to find out about it is to check bus stops.

PCL Travel - Jimmi - 13 May 2016

PCL Travel's timetables can be seen here: https://bustimes.org.uk/operators/PCLT

Can't find any info about this new service 51 though.

Yeah, that's where I looked straight away, because the Northumberland CC's website has only a few of the more "popular" bus timetables. I've also tried Traveline as well, for various times during the day, every day of the week, but still nothing. I wonder if there's any information in Morpeth Bus Station, or if there are even any mentions of it at all at bus stops?

Finally after doing some digging around, I've found some info on this service by typing into Traveline's Plan a Journey page for journeys between Morpeth Bus Station and Stannington. First of all, it appears to be the S1, not the 51 (according to Traveline North East). Here's the times.

Stannington Village departures.
0650. 0810. 0935. 1205. 1435. 1720.

Morpeth Bus Station stand H departures.
0730. 0840. 1135. 1405. 1550. 1740.

The first journeys in each direction don't run on Saturday's.

Got it, although it was a bit of a needle in a haystack to find! Wonder how it's getting on, as it appears to be very poorly publicised indeed!

X62chj has gained the new rural bus livery

RE: PCL Travel - Tom - 29 May 2016

Might try the S1 sometime over the holidays if I get a chance so hopefully that will be allocated.

Looks decent in the livery - https://www.flickr.com/photos/137071101@N06/26821634672

Ooh. Think I may give it a whirl, may get the 14:05 departure from Morpeth Bus Station on Thursday and hopefully I will be able to get a photo of whatever is operating it in Stannington. Then I would probably get the 15:00 44 back to Newcastle. Only thing is, I don't know that area at all which worries me slightly, especially with the lacking of information of the service in the public domain.

It takes around 25 Minutes to Stannington, Once in Stannington, The bus should drop you just round the corner from the Ridley Arms. That same bus stop is where you will catch your 44 back to Newcastle.

I'm might give it a crack on Wednesday, As I'm up at Alnwick to catch Spirit Buses 406 to Swarland and back with a photo in Swarland.
Will probably do it on the way back though.

Knowing my luck I'll end up with a crap ex London dart or it just won't show up at all with seems to be common with PCL

Does it definitley stop there as it doesn't come up on google maps? Apparently it goes to st Marys in Stannington but there's nothing on there either to be fair. I'm sure it will go somewhere near there though.

The 406 should be a great route and the usual driver on there is really canny, always slows down for a photo and will definitley be ok with you taking photos at Swarland. Explorers can't be used though I don't think just to let you know (well they weren't on the 15)

Hopefully that is the case, thanks for the info. Hope there is time to get a photo there as somewhere different although I don't think there will be much time, dare bet I'll be the only one to get off there, could do with some getting off in Stannington with me alighting first, allowing time to run and get into a good spot. May use Google Maps to help me out a bit on the day.

I rode Dart LG02FFR to Wall recently on service 882 and I thought that it was not too bad. Managed a good photo that day: https://flic.kr/p/FDSAFq

Ah right I think I might get the 44 from Newcastle to Stannington as I'm a bit sceptical about getting it not knowing where it stops

It should do as that's the only stop for the whole village I believe, Or there might be two.

Should be similar to the 15 id imagine, The driver is also the owner of Spirit I believe, Seen him in news articles about them.
Aye Explorers arnt valid, Though a child single on the 15 was £1 so I'm happy to pay £2 to do the route and back.

Ah right cheers will look out for the Ridley arms to know where to get off.

Yeah to be fair it's good to support an independent company as I can't imagine them getting much from explorer passes
