Ashame that it’s going to be the same number of bus stands and bus drivers parking up on wrong stands, should of built the bus station on top of north road, would of been more cost but the council wanted to use the funding to built there brand new HQ

I do think they could have made better use of the space that's already there at the bus station, even if it means less area for office space, but I guess not.

So is it basically going to be near enough the same as now in which case what's the point of demolishing and rebuilding it when a brand new bus station with a better layout using both sides of North Road to ease congestion would have been better.

Planning permission has been approved for a brand-new bus station in Durham City. The existing Durham Bus Station will be demolished early next year and work on a new modern, spacious transport hub will begin in Spring 2021.
