RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - atlantean542 - 19 Jan 2015 (11 Oct 2014, 3:10 pm)Malarkey Hadn't thought about it from that standpoint, Although back then I would've only of been 10 Years Old or Younger for Photos of the Leyland Nationals etc, I was only 14 when Branding came into affect in 2006 although at the time I wasn't interested in Photography I certainly wouldn't of thought it would've been that Expensive to buy a Camera though, I would imagine quite a lot people would've still been using Disposable Cameras at that time. Before digital cameras came about photography was the expensive part of the hobby - Camera: £50+ (my camera i used was a Canon EOS which cost £200) - Film 24 or 36 exposures: £5+ - Developing: £8+ so you couldn't just point and shoot like you do know, you had to choose what bus you wanted to photo. If you had a good trip and used just 2 films of 24 it could of cost you anything over £20 Alot of photographers coming though in the past few years don't think how much it the cost was, no one would of thought of going out and taking between 100-200 photos in one day. RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - NK05 GWZ - 19 Feb 2015 Good evening all, is anyone able to provide fleetnumbers and registrations for all the Mercedes-Benz Citaro G's that have operated with Go North East including the liveries they wore too? Would be very helpful, thanks. RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - Dan - 19 Feb 2015 X66:

RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - 8222 - 02 Apr 2015 Has anyone got photos of the SPDs or MPDs in 'simply turn up and go' livery for routes 150/1/2/3? I really liked that style of branding. It would seem to have been issued in 1959. Was JCN 822 originally a Northern vehicle - and what was it? I have seen a photograph taken in 1992 of a Leyland Tiger badged Plaxton (captioned as a Volvo B12M) in red Voyager livery with fleet number 7038. Obviously, that wasn't the first vehicle to carry the registration (from 1959) - and not the last (with FN 7103 B9R Caetano Levante in National Express livery in 2013 and now FN 3962 B7TL Wright Eclipse). Always really liked that branding (when complete!) RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - omnicity4659 - 06 Apr 2015 (05 Apr 2015, 10:13 pm)G-CPTN What is the history of the registration JCN 822? The only vehicles that I've found - I've flicked through all the pages on google advanced search; 3962 - Volvo B7TL - Wright Eclipse Gemini 7103 - Volvo B9R - Caetano Levante 7086 - Volvo B12M - Plaxton Paragon 7013 - Roe - Leyland Royal Tiger (this was reported to be re-registered in early-1990 and then reverted to A741 DCN in November 1990.) Can't find anything else relating to JCN 822 online. RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - G-CPTN - 06 Apr 2015 Thanks for the reply - I still wonder how the registration came into the 'Northern' brand (in 1959). RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - Andreos1 - 06 Apr 2015 (06 Apr 2015, 10:34 am)G-CPTN Thanks for the reply - I still wonder how the registration came into the 'Northern' brand (in 1959). There was some discussion previously, but I cannot find it. Some of the plates came when buying out a smaller operator (and stock). I think it was 340 GUP, came from Gypsy Queen (or something like that) and has stayed within the company ever since. Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - R852 PRG - 06 Apr 2015 (06 Apr 2015, 11:15 am)Andreos1 There was some discussion previously, but I cannot find it. I thought the registration 340 GUP came from an OK Motor Services coach? I could be wrong. RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - Andreos1 - 06 Apr 2015 (06 Apr 2015, 11:19 am)MarcTheA4 I thought the registration 340 GUP came from an OK Motor Services coach? I could be wrong. It could have been. All I remember, was that it was acquired through the purchase of an independent. RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - G-CPTN - 06 Apr 2015 (06 Apr 2015, 11:19 am)MarcTheA4 I thought the registration 340 GUP came from an OK Motor Services coach? I could be wrong. Registration 340 GUP was issued by Durham between March 1960 and May 1960. RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - Andreos1 - 06 Apr 2015 (06 Apr 2015, 11:29 am)G-CPTN Registration 340 GUP was issued by Durham between March 1960 and May 1960. http://regarchive.com/oldplate/JCN822 JCN 822 registered in Gateshead if that is any help? RE: Go North East: Fleet Vehicle History - G-CPTN - 06 Apr 2015 (06 Apr 2015, 11:57 am)Andreos1 JCN 822 registered in Gateshead if that is any help? Only that it suggests that the original vehicle to which it was issued in 1959 might have been a 'Northern' one. At some stage, decisions must have been made to retain that plate number, either because the vehicle remained in the fleet (possibly as trainer or recovery vehicle) and then retained for periodic use by newer vehicles. Does GNE have a 'historian'? I wasn't aware that 'Voyager' was a GNE / Northern brand. |
