(09 Nov 2018, 9:36 pm)James101 I don’t have the foggiest idea of how aircraft work, but why is setting auto pilot to 0ft even possible?

I've no idea!
Tried making sense of this and it appears it is possible to use it during landing.

Sure someone will know the reasons. Sure we have had a pilot or two on here in the past.

I'm certain you can use autopilot to land. AFAIK Japanese Airlines have come into a lot of controversy because of this - such as the Asiana crash in SFO. Apparently it's the pilot culture over there.

Aircraft flown on:

744, 77W, 772, E145, E190, E170, E175, E195, A319, A320, A320NEO, A321, A321NEO, A330-200, A330-300, A340-600 763, 752, 733, 737, 738, CRJ900, CRJ1000
