Wow can't believe they've kept those withdrawn darts all this time. I suppose if they have the space in the yard at Darlington and Stockton it saves the expense of removing them, cause I doubt they'd get much for them for scrap!

Still quite odd to be honest!

So the story goes, they were never disposed of after withdrawal due to them having a high residual value left on the books. The intention was to wait until they had depreciated sufficiently before scrap, so they wouldn't make a loss on the disposal of the asset. That was years ago though!

They'd probably get between £1200 and £1500 in scrap value (less if they've removed major components) so it's odd that they wouldn't just send them off for scrap.

The L-VNL and P-EEF batch of Darts are long gone, I think, Chris!
