Why hasnt it left for chester le street

5217 is the example which is due to transfer to Chester-le-Street. This one is still at Saltmeadows Road undergoing repaint.

The arrival of 5216 at Chester-le-Street has released 4931 (which is at Washington temporarily).

Tesco Free Bus

The Tesco Free Bus service departs Genesis Way Tesco at the following times:

T1 - 0900, 1045, 1300 and 1445 (terminates at Consett Bus Station)
T2 - 1000, 1215 and 1400

The T1 service operates from Tesco to Burnhopeside Avenue in Lanchester (23 minutes journey time), while the T2 service operates from Tesco to East Street in Chopwell (21 minutes journey time).

The T1 service is the one which calls at Consett Bus Station, four minutes after leaving Tesco.

MPD 547 is still active at Stanley at the moment, so that may appear instead of 553 (which is the case today).

Heavy rainfall & flash flooding is causing delays to some services around Gateshead. Our staff are working hard to minimise disruption.

This may be a random question but has there ever been a 4939 in the GNE fleet? I have been wondering for quite a while since I've been looking at the fleet lists alot...

No it didn't.  There was a fire at where the bus was held (if I remember, it was somewhere in Birtley) and the bus was destroyed by the fire.

So in a nutshell 4939 was dead before it even started

I find that a massive suprise! Solars are decent for their age and I wouldn't have thought that it would've been destroyed before use!

It's responses like this which annoy me about this forum. Fortunatley the number of people making stupid comments like these have been reduced to them been removed from this forum due their continued stupidity.

Anyway, 4939 (NK51OLA) was destroyed in a fire in a dealership yard, I believe it was in the Scania yard in Worksop but the reports have been conflicting over the years, but that is the more plausible one I know of. The vehicle had been on display at Bus and Coach 2001 and was been prepped for delivery to GNE after the show where it either caught fire in the yard or on a test run.

There maybe one or two photos of it at the show (I do recall seeing images of the show and the vehicle is just visable in the background), though back then not many enthusiasts attempted to go and visit the show to take photos of the latest vehicles etc.

5216 on the X22 this morning with no front or side destination display, at least the rear display is working.

Angel 21 buses appear to have lost their next stop announcement for St Leonards School in Durham although the visual display is showing this stop.
