Was there any particular fault with the mechanism of the bendy-buses? I thought the Citaros used the same engines in either case so therefore wouldn't be a specific issue to bendy buses. I'm uninformed.

(08 Apr 2018, 8:34 am)Andreos1 It was something to do with the 'bendy' bit and the accordion they fitted to them.
When going around corners, stopping/starting etc, trained mice were there to operate the accordion and press the relevant keys.
However, mice being mice - they got up to mischief and chewed through one electrical wire too many.

This fleet bendy Mercs needed a load more than three blind mice.

4991 has been withdrawn since January,
Having incurred defects uneconomical to repair, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Deptford Depot. Originally intended to be retained and re-allocated to service 35 (Low Moorsley - Boldon Cinema) in line with service changes effective 28th January 2018 due to having exhaust modifications undertaken bringing the service up to a 'Euro 5' engine rating, the Eminox SCRT exhaust will be transferred to Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 5202 (NK54 NUV).

Why do the metro replacements not show on app. Would be good to track buses
(08 Apr 2018, 1:12 pm)Dans_bus_photos I wonder if the 2 Merc fires in the last few months could be related to the engine modifications they have recently had?

Interestingly the bus fire at Stanstead Airport was a Citaro. As for GNE the only thing the 4 vehicles have in common is the extra additions placed in by the company. I.e next stop and the wiring for that, plugs maybe? Not entirely sure what had what but 4 is a lot in a short space of time.
