I just wish there was a more central party that just took the best parts of both Labour and Conservatives, but I don't think we'll ever see that, at least with enough support to make them viable.

I personally couldn't see myself voting Labour any time soon, while I agree with some of their policies, there are others that I just don't. Then there's the issue of leadership! Is it really that difficult to find someone likeable?

If the nhs had not been created or library's not been created and Corbyn had of said that's what he wanted if he became prime minister the right wing press would have crucified him even more that he did. Im yet to see ANY left wing polices put forward by him and it just a shame votes fall for the same lies the tory press spout at each election

Although the Conservatives won the Hartlepool by-election from Labour, they lost the Chesham & Amersham by-election to the Liberal Democrats.

Nissan has announced details of a new battery "gigafactory" that will enable its Sunderland car plant to massively increase production of electric vehicles.

The Japanese manufacturer said the £1bn battery plant, built in partnership with Chinese manufacturer Envision, will create 900 jobs at Nissan plus 750 at Envision - and an overall 6,200 when the impact on suppliers is included.

Britishvolt intends to build a plant on the former Blyth power station site in Northumberland promising 3,000 jobs and batteries for 300,000 vehicles a year.

Really good news for Sunderland and the North East.

Now if only they could transport vehicles by electric train, rather than diesel HGVs...

That's all because Britain does not have a licence to import EV batteries or component material. the licence was EU wide, yet another load off crap spouted by this regime .

On Thursday we have the by-elections in Wakefield and Tiverton & Honiton.

As Wakefield is marginal and only lost by Labour in 2019, it should be easy for them to regain it.

Tiverton & Honiton is being heavily targeted by the Liberal Democrats. If gained it would be even more spectacular than North Shropshire, as the Tories currently have a larger majority there.

Wakefield is clearly going to be a big test for Starmer and Labour. They need to not only regain the seat, but they need to do so convincingly in my opinion. With less than two years to go until the next scheduled General Election, there needs to be some clear signs of winning back support; the May elections didn't do that for me.

Tiverton & Honiton might have a large majority, but it's always interesting to see how the public react to a disgraced politician being disposed of.

While I'm not Boris' biggest fan, I don't think anyone who is rumoured to replace him is going to be any better, if anything some of them would be worse!

Better the devil you know, and all that

For all Boris' faults, I honestly don't think the current government has done a bad job at running the country given the circumstances. It's all the 'extra curricular activities' that has caused all the drama!

They locked down a week late causing thousands of extra death

should have lockdown over October Half Term back in 2020, ended up having a 8-10 week lockdown instead of a week one.

Ah don't forget the cost of living crisis, but who cares Rishi's wife a billionaire, Johnson just had a £150K treehouse installed!

The Secretary of State for DCMS is utterly useless, the Instagram Secretary (Liz Truss) well thats all you can say, and the Deputy Prime Minster the man, who refused to leave Bojo until he got that role cos he stayed on HOILDAY while the war in Ukraine started.
