Sad to see the night buses go at least it shows Stagecoach willing to try things.
Think the main problem was that the likes of the N1, N39 and N40 in particular served places that you can easily get a taxi too at a reasonable cost. Plus if there's four people splitting a taxi fare, the taxi would win over cost on most. Believe the N88 did ok, which was probably down to it serving outside of the main city.

Put it this way if they do not use the bus station there is going to be at least 75% of the new station not in use. So I'm guessing as they use the old station the will move to the new one. Hence the change on VOSA

One tends to transfer to Shields, well has for the past two years for the Es PVR increase, although with Sunderland operating these services I am not sure if they will receive an additional decker.

Changes to all services in South Shields Town Centre now on the SNE website
All services will be observing the new interchange and operating a one way system.
Inbound to the interchange via Fowler Street only.
Outbound from the Interchange via Coronation Street Asda and Station Road (Home Bargains) to either Crossgates and Town Hall or Western Approach and Laygate.
Service 12 will no longer operate to Mile End Road instead starting and Finishing at the Interchange.
Services 10 and E1 will leave Interchange and Coronation Street then operate via River Drive, Mile End Road and Coston Drive.
Services 8 and E2 will now omit Station Road heading into Shields and will operate from Western Approach via Crossgate, Town Hall and Fowler Street.
As a result Home Bargains will now have lots of bus services operating near the store on exit from Shields as opposed to none previously.
Mile End Road which had just 2 x service 12 an hour will now have 2 x service 10 and 3 x service E1.
All Stagecoach services will now be operating via Asda.

Service 3: To further assist operational reliability for customers, there are some minor changes to Monday to Saturday afternoon peak time journeys. However, overall frequencies remain unchanged, with buses running up to every 10 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes, every 20 minutes during Sunday daytimes, and every 30 minutes during the evening.
Service 18: Due to low customer numbers, there are some changes to trips during early morning and later afternoon periods, with the Monday to Friday 0719 from Gilley Law to Fawcett Street revised to run 10 minutes earlier. The Saturday morning 0733 from Gilley Law is withdrawn, and the Saturday 0833 from Gilley Law is revised to commence from Fulwell Blue Bell at 0914. The Monday to Saturday 1809 trip from Gilley Law to Seaburn will no longer operate. The Monday to Friday 0820 from Fawcett Street will commence from Southwick at 0841. Also withdrawn is the 0842 Saturday journey from Fawcett Street to Gilley Law, and the Monday to Saturday 1844 trip between Royal Hospital and Gilley Law.
Might as well withdraw the 18, slowly killing the route... only good thing is the first 18 from Gilley Law will get me work for 8am now (current 18 doesn't give me time to walk down)...

From Sunday 1 September 2019, there will be some changes to these services.

Service 1: With the end of the summer holidays, Monday to Saturday daytime buses revert to running up to every 7 minutes between Coach Lane and Cruddas Park, extending to Slatyford or Buddle Road every 15 minutes, and across to Cobalt Business Park every 30 minutes.
Service 18: With the reopening of Killingworth Road, buses are revised to once again serve it. After running to Freeman Hospital, daytime buses will then continue via Killingworth Road, Salters Lane, BT Call Centre and Stoneleigh Avenue to Four Lane Ends Metro. During peak times, buses will then continue via Benton Lane to Quorum Business Park, creating new links to employment. During off peak daytimes, buses will serve Hailsham Avenue.
Service 22: Following completion of the major works at Silverlink, Monday to Friday afternoon trips from Cobalt are revised to follow normal route, and will no longer serve Middle Engine Lane. There are also some minor timing changes, particularly during Saturday mornings.
Service X63: With Killingworth Road reopening, buses will once again run via BT Call Centre and South Gosforth. In Newcastle City Centre, X63 will serve Barras Bridge, Percy Street, Blackett Street and New Bridge Street West. Buses will not serve John Dobson Street or Benton Road
