(15 Aug 2016, 6:44 pm)NK53 TKT The East Quayside buslink in Newcastle near Spillers Wharf now counts as the Q3 no longer uses it

There's no buslink at Spillers Wharf. The only thing that is now out of use is the bus shelter. The buslink further along from Mariners Wharf to the Law Courts is still in use

(15 Aug 2016, 6:02 pm)James101 Spotted this in Staffordshire.

Not of local interest, but still remarkably well preserved - and in use toady.

Stevensons of Uttoxeter were at one time the largest independent bus operator in the country. They were sold to Arriva (British Bus) in 1994 which dates this sign as being at least 22 years old, though I suspect it'll be even older than that. Under Arriva ownership, two Opatre Vectas (1557 & 1558) were sent up from their Burton upon Trent operation to operate on Teesside in a fleet standardisation exercise.

Toady Arriva are in the process of selling the much of the old Stevensons operation back to regional independent Midland Classic. Midland Classic have repainted a Scania in the livery on Stevensons as a nod to their history; maybe that bus and this stop should be introduced for a photo opportunity?

I noticed some of the ghost bus infrastructure on the A19 in the Hartlepool area have new flags.

They're showing the Connect Tees Valley logo off memory.

The new ones going up do have the Connect Tees Valley logo at the top. They're in the process of changing them all, but in no particular order and have even stuck one up outside the Vue cinema which hasn't had a service stop there since the shopping shuttle 25 was withdrawn

Managed to get a better look yesterday.
They seem to have the stop name on the flag, in addition to a line about the stop not being in public use.
The old flags had something similar, but worded differently.
I cant remember the exact wording.

Not sure it is 'Ghost' as technically it's still in use, but I was reminded recently of the very old (guessing it's from the early 70's) sign in Billingham.
Located at the very top of The Causeway (western end), it warns bus drivers to be careful when performing u-turns.

Whilst the area around it has been 'modernised', and new shelters installed - it was nice to see the sign has remained in situ.

Noticed a Nexus flag featuring the 'pipes' at the southern end of Whinbury Road recently.

However the brief sighting of a Nexus stop in someone's back garden yesterday got me. I was on the upper-deck of the X1 and noticed that a house behind the 'Paddock Stile Manor Care Home' at Philidephia was showing off a residents bus enthusiastic tendencies. Will go back for closer inspection.

Red northern stop signs exist in the following:
- Hamsterly bank (at the top to the left, as you go down towards B.H.M)
- Crookgate, Pack horse (to the left as you travel towards Gateshead, on the side of the bus shelter)

Alnmouth.

Always forget about this one.
Since the main drag was made one way, the shelter near the sea front now stands obsolete.
Yellow bus stop markings on the ground replaced by white car parking bay markings.

On Hill Street there is still an Arriva Bus Stop sign when no Arriva buses stop there anymore.

Got this from Google Maps, but still looks the same now.

Don't Suppose anyone can shed any light on these stops that have appeared on Hartlepool Marina. Can't ever remember them being there before the new-style Connect Tees Valley flags, so about 5 years or so ago?

Can't think of any services that have ran through here since, seems like bit of a kick in the teeth to not only hack back services but then go around planting random stops.

Not sure how long the gull had been waiting at Mecca but it had just given up when I got there.

The one outside the museum was put there when the council were running the yellow buses between all the touristy spots, as for mecca bingo, not a clue

There’s still a bus stop on Hills Street in Gateshead opposite the Central Bar even though buses can no longer go that way due to the far end being paved over where buses used to exit onto the Tyne Bridge

It's still there because, in future, buses going into Newcastle will be obliged to serve it as it is the closest stop to the boundary between Newcastle and Gateshead. A less discussed part of the upcoming September changes is that buses will be required to do a three-point (booked) turn on Hills Street

There's no reason for them to remove it, it'll probably cost them a fortune, and they probably get paid more in advertising than it costs them in upkeep should some youths decide to break a window.

If you shared this last year, it would have counted as ghost bus infrastructure.
As they've been removed and were removed last year, they no longer count as ghost bus infrastructure anymore.
They would go in the exorsised bus infrastructure thread.
