(14 Mar 2015, 2:42 pm)citaro5284 As you can see from a couple of my responses, we can see which vehicles are online, the amount of users per vehicle (need this to see if customers complain about it going slow, how many were on at the same time), last time it connected and since each unit has a GPS receiver, the location of the vehicle, the number of the SIM card installed and a basic summary usage - data downloaded/uploaded (either by bus or account wide)
We can set any limits we want, currently we have a 150mb daily limit and also we can block whatever sites we feel necessary. We also have the ability to setup a landing page. Most if not all of the other info is held by our supplier as part of the contract and SLA that was signed by Go Ahead.

It mustn't be a lot if I can use 500MB in three days.

Reset during the day to allow commuters to use 150MB on the morning and 150MB on the evening.
This is more than enough - it's not meant to be used for streaming movies and suchlike.

Just a follow on to the WiFi discussion, do GNE allow Spotify streaming on their WiFi, I've tried multiple times on ANE buses to no avail.
Also, in places with 4G such as routes in Newcastle, Sunderland etc. could operators allow YouTube access, as it wouldn't massively affect the speed would it?

But even with 4G there is still a data charge and a limit would still have to be applied, just you would reah your limit a lot quicker

If you have a data package say for EE and also a one for Vodafone in the same bus, even if you split the package out, it would probably cost more if you add the package costs together from each provider.

I was there this morning, getting some food before I made my way back home, was paying at the self service, and saw my bus (7524) turn up at the traffic lights, had to get down the travelator, ran across the road and still made it before it left, don't ask me how!

Was an alright bus in itself, but I was a bit annoyed that I mistakenly hopped on a 54 instead of a 53 on Market Street West...wound up getting a tour of Gateshead!
Not only that, a drunken Irishman was sat in front of me on the phone. That was hard to not listen to...
