When the date changes, I no longer get any notification until I 'contribute'.

As I have 'nothing to say' (and the system will not accept an empty post), I decided to explain my action - unless anyone can suggest another way of subscribing and staying informed from one month to the next?

You can subscribe without posting. If you open up a thread, you can then scroll to the bottom and select 'Subscribe to Thread'. This won't appear in apps such as Tapatalk.

In Tapatalk specifically. Open up a thread and press the star icon at the top of the app to subscribe to that thread.

Why subscribe to a thread? I don't - I find it a lot easier just clicking unread posts at the top weather on the laptop or phone/tablet. Makes it much easier than going through sub forums etc.

Rush hour x34s late again. The 1645 from Newcastle has just swapped drivers with the 1620 from Harton Nook at Heworth Metro at 1725. Get your heads around that. Can only think is due to the driver of the 1620 being required for the late evening runs at approx 1825 from Harton Nook And he would have had no chance of doing so otherwise

Lead driver relieving drivers running late for breaks perhaps?

Sadly it would seem that this means no double deckers as had been suggested could be a possibility!

In an attempt to give a positive with a negative...

Although I don't like the new branding, I do think it is an improvement on the last branding. I thought the same about the last branding compared to the original branding, too, so at least we're heading in the right direction if nothing else? Smile

I do think the Kingston Park puns have been over-used, though. Perhaps rightly so, one could argue, as I believe the X47 offers the fastest journey time between Newcastle and Kingston Park, with the Metro taking a few minutes more (when they don't bunch up in twos and threes, that is)?

We classing that old X47 on the side and back windows that looked like a BOGOF promotion as branding?

Definitely better than that, but to me this new branding just seems a bit dull and doesn't grab much attention to it which to me is the whole point of route branding and the whole KING plastered over the bus is a bit OTT.

Whatever peoples thoughts are regarding the branding, you can instantly identify who the operator is.
Route branding and a corporate id instantly recognisable.

Win/win.
