(30 Aug 2015, 5:37 pm)Dan Small update from me...

Deptford's "Fab Fifty Six" branded Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 6085 (NL63 YHN) has returned to Deptford from Thornton's, following GKN Flywheel modifications.

The movements as a result of the loss of a number of Nexus miscellaneous works contracts are starting to commence. So far:
- Dennis Trident/East Lancs Lolyne 3874 (W184 SCU) has transferred from Percy Main to Stanley.
- Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 4923 (X923 WGR) has transferred from Deptford to Riverside.
- Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4935 (Y935 ERG) has transferred from Chester-le-Street to Washington.

Ultimately, I believe that further Volvo B10BLEs, DAF SB120s and Dennis Tridents will be withdrawn from service.

(31 Aug 2015, 8:16 pm)Michael Has anymore changes happened over the weekend?

(31 Aug 2015, 8:17 pm)Dan Yes, a couple. One involves the transfer of 6039 to Chester-le-Street from Deptford (GuyParkRoyal got a photo of this on service 50A today).

Bound to have been a few more. Will make a post in the morning before going for the Metro if I have time.

The only other transfer over the weekend was Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 4915 (X915 WGR) from Riverside to Percy Main, which should allow for a dual-door Volvo B10BLE to be withdrawn from service. Still a large number of transfers outstanding, and specific withdrawals should be confirmed today in Go North East's 'official' fleet news. Quite likely that a number of vehicles won't be replaced immediately and they will continue to see use in the fleet temporarily.

6039 was one of the best Volvo B7s at Deptford - Chester-le-Street are getting a decent bus...

For quite some time now, Deptford's output on service 9 has been 2x Volvo B7 and 1x Volvo B10BLE. The allocation has now been revised with the changes to interworking patterns with scholars services, and it should now be three Volvo B7TLs (two dual-door, one President).

I'm pretty sure that it's been said before that 4923 is a floating spare of some-sort? Not sure if that's still the case mind.

(01 Sep 2015, 7:19 am)DanPicken So what's my scholars got for this week.

(01 Sep 2015, 7:54 am)S813 FVK Wait and see??

Think Robert has hit the nail on the head here...

Dan; I've told you before that, as far as I know, Go North East are no longer operating your scholars service and it - like all other Nexus Misc Works - should be covered by the new operator (Gateshead Central Taxis) from this week. Obviously GCT's VOSA registration suggests next week, so we'll see what the crack is when you return to school!

(29 Aug 2015, 9:24 am)Dan I believe Dennis MPD 547 will be retained in the fleet at Peterlee for now (more on that next week), but Volvo B10BLE 5162 should be withdrawn from today (hasn't been allocated to service yet).

It was indeed withdrawn from service and is now at Saltmeadows Road whilst awaiting disposal.

As some of the 08 reg Citaros have been rebranded so quickly, is it right to suggest that they have not undergone a 'freshen up' repaint like 5328/9/30? I find that very unusual if they haven't but i'm almost sure they'll get repainted again at a later date once they have got any other repaints out of the way.

I would say some of the panels have simply had a touch up repaint of Silver, as some of those 08reg Mercs on the 27 had taken a battering and do they seem to look a lot more presentable than they were before being re-branded.

Correct - the older Mercedes Citaros were not repainted prior to branding.

Mainly because of the fact it was not internally refurbished and the seats are very hard.
