(19 Mar 2016, 2:57 pm)NK53 TKT I predict human error, he should've diverted

Time will tell. I was genuinely surprised it wasn't a Russian airline when I saw the news come through. Having flown with Rossiya and Aeroflot, I was left with a bad impression of Russian aviation. I was very thankful to get a speedbird back home.

Aircraft flown on:

744, 77W, 772, E145, E190, E170, E175, E195, A319, A320, A320NEO, A321, A321NEO, A330-200, A330-300, A340-600 763, 752, 733, 737, 738, CRJ900, CRJ1000
Favourite aircraft: G-STBL/G-ZBKL

I really do hope they prosecute. Drone flying in such densely populated airspace is plain ridiculous and reckless.

Some interesting shenanigans with an Airbus tanker in Yorkshire and the Northeast, tonight - reports of sonic booms heard between Leeds and Harrogate, earlier. Latest suggestion is that it's dumping fuel and expected to land in Newcastle.

I heard the Typhoons heading back south at about 2230.
Had no idea what they were doing in the area at that point like.

Sad news today:

Brazilian football team's plane crashes in Colombia killing 75

Seventy-five people have been killed after a plane carrying members of a Brazilian football team crashed in Colombia, police have said.

Six others, including three players, survived the disaster which happened following an electrical fault.
