I was starving at 1:30am and couldn't be arsed to cook anything, so I thought I'd have a nice little stroll own to McDonalds, only to find that the bugger is closed for a 'deep clean'

The app was still happy to take my order when I was walking along, and when I got there it was happy to take my payment. It was only after waiting at the door like a lemon that I was told it was closed, there were no signs or anything.

Now I have to wait god knows how long for customer services to get back to me so I can have my order refunded!

Still waiting for their incoherent Monopoly support team to give me back my Big Mac and milkshake vouchers after the same happened to me... got fobbed off to them by their actual customer services team!

Since when was it appropriate to bring a suitcase upstairs, throw it onto a pair of seats, then pull out Chili dip and a bunch of fried chicken and some fruit a full two course meal, they even had metal clutary.

Its a bus, not a meal on wheels.

I quite often have my McDonalds on the bus, but it's surprisingly difficult to eat a Big Mac when you're moving!

The worst part is there's no cup holders so you either have to yolo it and hope it doesn't fall over, or chug the drink before you start eating.

I really have no issue eating mcdonalds on the bus, as it doesn't really smell well the burger doesn't really.

Its when its all the sauces or kebab or south freid chicken.

I tried to bring a almost cold cheesburger and he told me you better not eat that on here.

As far as I'm aware, you're allowed to drink anything (non alcoholic) on the bus as long as it has a lid, and eat food that's not 'hot'.

Now, what they classify as 'hot' food is probably up for debate. Are they purely going off the current temperature of the food, or are they saying anything that was prepared hot isn't allowed?

Yeah it was basically cold. However as hot food goes I would really say any food which when prepared is hot and gives off a smell. Personally I think only food which doesn't have a strong smell should be eating on a bus.

There was an open bottle of Budweiser on the bus I was on at 9am on Saturday.

I just got my new phone today (a Flip4 for anyone wondering), and oh my word, the default Samsung sounds are awful!

I remember back when I had my Galaxy S4 having to change them because they were so annoying, but they're still the same.

Now I'm going to have to faff around finding something that's not as bad, I quite liked the default sounds on my OnePlus and LGs

Mate had a Z3. Less than a year old and it's a write off due to screen bleed.
No drops, no other damage. Just tech that's still young I think.

It's enough to keep me well away.

My brother has the Pixel 6 Pro, and has a Pixel 7 Pro coming this week.

The bloatware has been a bit of an issue so far, and I'm not sure what I think of the Samsung UI (back when I had my S4 I swapped the launcher out for a different one).

I must admit I do rather like the Pixels, but I just wanted to try something different.
It was either a Flip or a Fold, and I just don't think the Fold is worth what they're asking!

This is the first time I've ever got a phone on contract, I usually just buy them outright, but strangely it was cheaper getting it on contract.

I've also just spent half the afternoon figuring out how to de-Samsungify the phone.
No, I don't want to use Samsung pay, I want to use Google Pay/Wallet
No, I don't want to use the Samsung keyboard, I want to use Gboard
No, I don't want to use Samsung Pass, I want to use the Google password manager because that's where all my f-ing passwords already are!

I took out the insurance on the phone, it's only like £3 a month with a £50 excess when I inevitably smash it, a fair price I think with how clumsy I am.
Given every other time I've broken a screen (or glass screen protector) is when it falls out my pocket, I'm hoping with the screen being inside I can at least go a month without breaking it!

Are you not worried about the screen creasing?

GNE Price Rises, I don't get how one company can raise their prices when half the buses don't turn up due to delayed operation or cancellations, when you have to wait 45 mins, because two buses were cancelled, or waiting 3 hours for an X30/X31 can justify the price increase. Not to mention the decrease in frequency for a lot of services, the 21 who struggles most match days, the 57, 65 (two broke down yesterday and its a PVR 1).

The audacity.

My current phone is a Poco X3 Pro. I think I got it in June or July last year, so it's already lasted for over a year. You could probably buy three of these for the price of the latest Galaxy phone.

My previous two phones were both Sony Xperia XZ1. The first one lasted me just over a year before the camera broke, then the second one (which was originally my dad's) lasted me another year and a half before the battery finally gave up.

Then before that I had a Moto G4 which was originally my mum's, which I had for about a year and a half before I ended up losing it in some long grass.

In short, if you want a reliable phone, don't get a Samsung.

Looking back at my history, I seem to usually keep phones around 18 months. Tbh, it didn't really cost that much. I got it on contract this time, and if I take off what I was paying for my old plan, then it only 'cost' £475. Which, for a brand new flippy boi isn't too bad! I paid about that for my Galaxy S4 back in the day!

The last phone I had was a Oneplus Nord, I got that in August last year.
I was so close to getting the LG Wing, but then LG decided to bugger off from making phones, so...

Before that, I had an LG G7 which I had for just under 2 years (the longest I've ever owned a phone)
Before that, I had an LG G6, which I had for just over a year (my favourite phone of all time, it was perfect!)
Before that, I had a Vodafone Smart Platinum 7, which I had for 18 months.
Before that, I had a Vodafone Smart V8, which I had about 6 months
Before that, I had a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6, which I had about 18 months, before it unfortunately died, and got replaced under warranty by the V8.
Before that, I had a Samsung Galaxy S4, which I had for about 18 months.
Before that, I had a HTC Evo 3D. I think I also had that about 18 months before the USB port broke.
Before that, I had an OG Galaxy S. I can't remember how long I had that, but it met an untimely death when it flew out of my pocket getting out of the car.
Before that, I had an iPhone 3GS, that also met an untimely death when I dropped it off the top of a caravan.
Before that, I had some LG phone with a sliding QWERTY keyboard.
Before that, I had a Samsung Tocco
Before that, I had a Three Skypephone S2
Before that, I had a Sanyo S750i
Before that, I had a Philips phone that I literally can't remember. I got it when I think I was in Year 3 or 4 and I was the only one in the class to have a phone.

The original battery in my Galaxy S4 became a spicy pillow after a few years. I vaguely remember getting a replacement battery free from Samsung because it was a known issue.

I thought it would be fun to blow it up, so with my explosion containment pie dish at the ready, I started mashing at it with a blunt instrument. Fair to say, the explosion was a bit more dramatic than I was expecting, in fact I ended up burning my finger on a bit of battery that wanted to be a plane, and now I have a scar  Big Grin

I have the Samsung Galaxy A71 and its still running okay for the most part although there's an issue with either the battery or the charging port on mine now (already had that repaired a year ago) and have lost the fact charging as a result, often I have to angle it in a certain fashion just to get it to charge. The fact I'm unable to now use the correct plug because of damage and can pretty much only get away with an old Sony plug or just do USB charging (my USB adapter is probably what caused all the problems but it's only way I can charge when out normally).
