(15 Aug 2019, 4:21 pm)Cock Robin News to me. We haven't even discussed its livery in the long term yet, though that would be my preference.

The North East Bus Preservation Trust have shared some photos tonight of KBB 118D's restoration progress.

I have to say it looks fantastic. Can't wait to see this back out on the road.

Originally due to be kept under-wraps for the Teesside Running Day but due to its cancellation, The Teesside 500 Group formerly unveiled 223 yesterday repainted into its original livery of Transit Deregulation Green/Yellow/White complete with 'Transit - Part of the Stagecoach Group' fleetnames by way of a YouTube video

No idea if you or anyone else knows, but what's the link with Red Kite and GNE's RYB?
The first thought was that they acquired a GNE vehicle and adapted their colour scheme to suit (like Kingsleys did with their ex Brum MCW's), but I've never been able to find out if that was the case.

That is apparently exactly what happened - they bought a GNE vehicle and just adapted the livery.
Still a few jobs left to do on it to bring it back to original condition - like retrimming the seats into original Stagecoach 'Chevron' moquette. With the 2020 Rally Season effectively on hold right now, until anything further stops work, there's plenty of time to get the little bits done.

223 looks fantastic. Great way to unveil it too, given the unusual times we're in!

The Ship Inn at Saltburn seem to have acquired former First Solo W332 DWX.
Its in a black paint scheme (similar to the ex-GNE MPD) and as yet unsure as to what is happening to it.
Another bar conversion?

Late to the party here but yes I would have thought so.

Saw this beauty earlier on coming from Hetton.
Decided to follow it and caught it as it was heading up towards Newbottle.
Managed to get in front of it on the Washington Highway, to see it was displaying '93 Scarborough'.

Needless to say, when it was climbing up towards Newbottle, the radio went off and the window came down.

Hang tight with me here...

I'm a bit of a hipster. Love cooking, brewing, foraging and growing my own produce and I follow a Tasmanian called Sarah Glover.
Apart from the obvious, I also like what she does.

She is in the US at the moment and landed at a place called The Ecology Centre. Noticed on one of her reels, that there was a Metrobus type vehicle in the background of her shots.
Did some digging, found a decent photo (https://www.greenmatters.com/travel/2018...d-trip-bus) and it still shows a UK plate. The last time I saw the plate, was on an OK Bristol LH https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/19881201...199599932/
But this was an Metrobus, not an LH.

Did some more digging and it turns out it isn't a local Metrobus. Just a Metrobus that appears to have a cherished licence once used by a local vehicle.

It looks like it has done the rally circuit at some point https://www.flickr.com/photos/wagn1/7158466068/
And it has even had a model made https://www.flickr.com/photos/micastone/41560390372

Not sure whether to be pleased with my discovery or underwhelmed.
Seem to have solved a mini adventure though.

RCU 834S has popped up on Ebay... In a rather derelict state, to say the least https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155076154233?...Sw~wdi0A8F
