I admit to being the guilty party! It was a mixed bag today as well, 1461/1466 operating X26/7 respectively, running together at one point. I was in 66, 20 mins late.

(29 Feb 2016, 7:49 pm)GX03 SVC The StreetLite on the X21/X22 was either 1579 or 1580, I will have a look.

Surely it would make more sense to keep the StreetLite on the 35, and put one of the ALX400's on the X21/22?

StreetLites are being allocated to X21/X22 so passengers don't lose out on having no WiFi. WiFi is relied on on the Sapphire routes, and usage is increasing apparently.

What happens at peak time though? A full decker load trying to squeeze onto a StreetLite... Aren't 7412/7515/7516 available?

(I'd even suggest that 4653 may be more suitable, similar issues capacity wise, however at least then the StreetLite could be allocated to the 35)

7412/5/6 are probably covering for the usual VORs on the MAX primary routes X15/8 or are even VOR themselves.

I think something is being done to allocate the StreetLites onto a board that misses the peak time loadings in the evenings from Haymarket.

And the 35 isn't really a priority route, with WiFi not being a standard. Although MPDs with WiFi cover the StreetLites occasionally.

Fair enough, at least they are trying to allocate them to quieter runs,

I do hope there is a better plan moving forward than this. Reliability has been an issue on the Sapphire X21/22 since launch in August 2014 pretty much, and now 18 months later, it seems nothing has been done.

However it should have it's branded, and correct allocation as much as possible. Customers on the 35 shouldn't have to suffer ageing double deckers (which are probably more reliable than the Sapphire E400's), because the Sapphire E400's can't hack it.
