(05 Apr 2016, 5:20 pm)Jackamcardle Pardon me if I offend anyone but I find mostly all routes around the Sunderland area (700, 39, 33,33A, 99, X36, X35, 56, 36, 35, 9, 238, 38, 60, and 2/2A) very dull and boring to ride.
I do like some though - X7, 61, 8, 78, 20/20A.

(05 Apr 2016, 5:48 pm)Andreos1 The 238 is one I quite like.
Particularly the bit between Houghton and Seaham.
The full 38 is one I may have to do again before it goes.
Certainly interesting!

(05 Apr 2016, 5:51 pm)Tom The 238 is canny on the Seaham-Sunderland section too. Never been on the full 38 but if I have a Saturday free will give it a go sometime before it goes and possibly the 99 too.

(05 Apr 2016, 5:59 pm)Tom Is that the 38 or 238?
(05 Apr 2016, 6:05 pm)Andreos1 Sorry -238.
The 38 doesnt go over that way.
The 238 skirts the far side of Penshaw Monument and there are some great (if brief) views.
Not a location that crops up on photos too often.

I am shocked that no one as mentioned the S1 as the most boring Go North East Route.
(07 Apr 2016, 1:40 pm)GMitchelhill I am shocked that no one as mentioned the S1 as the most boring Go North East Route.Since you mention it, I did it this afternoon and it is boring, made even less fun by the vinyls covering the windows, was like looking through my letterbox trying to see the view outside.

(07 Apr 2016, 3:12 pm)Andreos1 I do prefer the route variations that the 20a and X20 have over the 20.Got to say I much prefer the 20A to the 20, as the 20A seems to stop less than 20 which feels like it stops every 5 seconds between East Rainton and Houghton-le-Spring.

X20 is better though, just a shame it's a limited service, used to love the Pronto X20.
