(07 Jul 2016, 3:49 pm)South Tyne Lad Anyone got anymore info on this? Its my local route ( Which I thinks pretty obvious  Wink  )

I think its due to http://www.southtyneside.gov.uk/article/...roundabout

With road works lasting  1 year, I may have read this wrong but I think Edinburgh Road will be closed after road works.

Aye, I live in Brockely Whins so I'm getting the brunt of it haha.
It really needs another bus added into the PVR, Traffic at Peak Times was delaying it now it has all day Gridlock.

Oh dear.

Before the delays 88/88A got worst when it went to Riverside mainly on Sundays  (15 mins Late then turns to Not In Service).

I hope GNE will sort South Tyneside like others.

Looking at the Q3 map, its going to run pretty much the exact same route the old Stagecoach 34 route used to run years ago running from the Quayside (minus going to Central Station), all the way along Walker road and using Westbourne Avenue to get to the Fossway.

Stagecoach ditched the 34 route and extended the 18 from walker along that way instead if i remember correctly.

Its even running along Eastfield avenue when it comes out of Wallsend.

Very impressed with whats been done the Quaylink since Go North East took over commercially!

It isn't. Well, not on the new timetable anyway (i know it is on the old one).

Quite strange how they have used the omnicity, removed all 'Cobalt Connect' brand names but left the route details and Cobalt logo in place to show the partnership (which is done on the front of the leaflet in text)

I've overheard people talking about the Q3 on the bus and everyone seems very happy with it so I'm sure it'll be popular. Hopefully it will be well used and they introduce some later services to Wallsend as the last one is around 7 or 8 I think. Will save people a canny bit on taxi fares as I'm guessing the single will only be around £2

Odd that it is going via Eastfield Avenue as it is a very tight road down there

Theres a section of Eastfield that the metro bridge covers and is a give way position, I noticed its only running that way when it leaves Wallsend. Coming into Wallsend it operates via the main road and around wallsend high Street.

I personally think its a good idea and great competition for Stagecoach who have cut services or merged in the Walker/Wallsend area over the past 15years, with the redevelopment of the area.

Services 2, 3, 3B, 12A, 12B, 34, 35, 35A, 35B, 21 are a few I can think of.

I hope the Q3 is a success, and maybe in the future they can expand with more Quayling Routes.

Interesting to see more of these services appearing.
Whilst positive and something I applaud, I can't see them reaching their full potential. The massive holes left in the local provison (after the withdrawal of services for the evening), may mean they end up like the night buses.
It may defeat the whole objective of getting a late bus to the nearest town/village, if you find you have to walk another few miles down the road on a wet Tuesday night or pay a taxi the rest of the way.

Ye, wonder if they'll have extra on all of the services soon.

It seems to be similar routes to the extra/additional Boxing Day services (going off memory here like).
No idea if it will be rolled out even further.
