(28 Jan 2019, 8:27 pm)Jamie M Rumours about that piece of land have existed longer than the land itself.

With documents regarding planning permission having been submitted, probably safe to say it's no longer a rumour and the expansion is being considered.

Application was validated last August, with an amendment in December. Status still down as 'Awaiting Decision'.

(28 Jan 2019, 7:49 pm)pbjd No, X30 to interwork with X70&X71.

The 1st X70nfrom consett will work onto an X30, however the rest of the X70/X71 continue to work as now. Wouldn't be surprised if the allocation of this route becomes double decker (6124/25 & 31) with the loss of the Toon Link branding, i don't think they'll leave 3 Omnicities at Consett when all the rest go on.

I'm a fan of the Toonlink livery, I do think when it was adopted onto the 32 service a few years a back it created a slight bit of confusion customer based wise, especially people around the Durham area!

I used the services from time to time, and I really don't think the X70/X71 justifies double deckers, I feel like I very rarely see a single decker on there, which I think would suit the majority of runs better.

They could operate similar to the Red kite services and have the double deckers on the busier boards

(28 Jan 2019, 7:49 pm)pbjd No, X30 to interwork with X70&X71.

Think i worked out the PVR would be X30/X70/X71 - PVR - 6.5 (round up to 7, with layover)

I wonder if could easily be worked out where 7 of the contract deckers could be moved out to Saltmeadows (limit 30, currently at 22), meaning the 7 buses needed for the X30/X70/X71 can be moved to Riverside, meaning NO main services would leave Riverside.

You would have to move the splits drivers with the buses. That's one can of worms to just get a few routes moved around.

I can't see the X30 staying at stanley. I would have thought the Omnicities would have returned to Riverside and B9s stay up Stanley.

Conditions like that are often imposed by Leeds as part of the planning approval process.
It can be as detailed as no right hand turnings out of the depot too.

No idea whether conditions like this are in place with the new depot, but it's not unheard of.

It's at the end of an industrial estate, passing very few houses, so I really cannot see this ever being an issue. I think it was more just rumour at the start of the project, rather than actual based ruling.

The X30s are not staying at Stanley, but then again nothing is staying at Stanley!!. The X30s are moving to consett, 3 buses and not interworking with anything. I've seen the duty content for the new workings. There is no time limits on the depot. Hopefully this puts the X30s and no vehicle movements after 2230 to bed!!!

Good stuff! Pleased that the 2230 restriction was only a rumor or part of the initial proposals but later axed. Good to see Consett being able to operate the routes that move over from Stanley.

On another note, what are the key dates to look out for with regards to service changes this year?

New depot was said to be opening next month, however, nothing has appeared on VOSA yet.

Normally June has some changes too.

On Sundays the X30 will interwork with the 16A from / to Durham. The M6 will as a result not interwork with the 16A/X30 as it currently does.
