(03 Feb 2017, 2:10 pm)Cock Robin The first Solo seems to have disappeared now.

47265 is stored at Dickens Self Storage in Stockton I believe after being donated to Teen Challenge, Teesside.
Not sure where 47053 is stored, but was donated to Sowing the Seeds Ministries, Stockton.

Just got on the X24, and about 15 people got on from Newcastle.

Finally get a proper ride on the Omnilink.

Diversion to due to Southwick Green been closed because of the massive fire:

Sun Ops: Southwick Green is still closed. Services will divert via Thompsons Rd, Carley Hill Rd, Faber Rd, Old Mill Rd in both directions.

Oh it's going to be fun getting to work tomorrow morning for 7:30am if the road is still closed!

Only used it a few times (only from Sunderland to Sunderland hospital and from Sunderland to Newcastle and vice versa) and it's around 15-18 passengers on at that time.

I by comparison noted loadings (to the best of my ability - the tinted windows on the Omnilinks make it difficult!) on Friday morning at Gateshead Interchange whilst I was working on other buses, and found there to be no more than five passengers on each bus.

Granted, it seems to be doing as well as the X36 already, but you could get on the X24 and buy a weekly ticket on special offer for roughly the same price as a single on the X36, last week... So passenger numbers doesn't exactly equal profit!

There's obviously a whole host of other things which come into play too - the Omnilinks are heavy on fuel, and also seem to be providing a heavy weight on the engineering budget at Sunderland at the moment!

It'll be interesting to see how it works out for Stagecoach. I'm still a little sceptical about there being a market for that service, but Stagecoach are (usually) good at giving services time to grow, even if it isn't a very good picture being painted at the moment.

Think it depends on the time of the day too, it's now the 2nd week so hopefully more people know about it now.

Doing better than the X36 already?, that's not good although the routes in Sunderland City Centre, Gateshead and Newcastle give competition.

Gateshead is mostly GNE too so i don't think Stagecoach will get many passengers from that area tbh.

I'm not keen on the tainted windows too.

(02 Feb 2017, 6:07 pm)Kuyoyo Interesting developments at Stockton this afternoon - 16462/3 have arrived at the depot, reason unknown

On paper they have transferred from East Midlands to Transit, but are being donated to two local schools.

The annoying thing about the tinted windows is being unable to actually see what the passenger numbers are like from the outside.

Maybe the extra bus for the roadworks as I think they were having trouble getting 34401 on the road.
